A person weighing 200N sits on a sled and is pulled 75m horizontally at a constant speed by a force of 100N acting on the sled at an angle of 30 degress to the horizontal. What is the amount of work on the person by the vertical component of the 100 N force? Why is this true?

OK, if our sun is destined to expire and we know of other plantes close to earths environment (minus trees and water which can easilly be reproduced) then : if we gravitationally pull these plantes into a different point of orbit, say with our own earth ( but will that throw earth dangerously out of its own orbit of the sun ) or with a larger planet ( which we could draw closer to the sun to maintain a level of comfort of warmth) but beyond the reach of the iminent Red Giant the sun will become, would that save us for long enough to colonize other places to call home? whatever, I have too many questions.

Is the intelligence a child receives somewhat based upon the intelligence of his/her parents? I often hear that since the parents are smart the child must be clever, is this reasonable? Is intelligence based genetically? Thank you.

They are predicting a giant (9+!!) subduction zone earthquake for the Pacific Northwest which is an exact duplicate of the type that caused the tsunami quake in Indonesia.
First, what will happen to my one floor house in such an earthquake if it falls off its foundation? It is not strapped to the foundation. I have a crawlspace. Will the attic fall in and collapse the ceiling totally. Will we be badly injured? My house is in the Portland area 70 miles from the coast. My house is built on a solid giant gravel deposit from the Lake Misoula flood. The earthquake will occur in the subduction zone fault about 100 miles off the coast.

Also, what will happen to the three cities of Portland, Seattle and Vancouver BC?
What happened to highrises in the Indonesian earthquake if any? I never heard about the effects of the earthquake itself from that.
Thanks

Given the catastrophic scenarios of ice caps melting, sea level rising, giant apocalyptic storms, monster hurricanes and monster tornadoes and extreme floods.

I don't see any big changes in the climate. Given all the fuss about global warming, it's not happening soon enough.

I can't wait to see this happen. DO YOU ?

I was doing a search on time travel & I came upon an online document which was a 3 part story about 2 guys in canada, and using "power points" or some such to time travel. In short, the story at the end had said that the one man traveled ahead to 2010 or 2012, not exactly sure. He then says in the story that he tried to travel past the year 2012 and could not, like some strange force was restricting him from going further. I don't remember details on this, but I do remember him saying he did something, but I don't remember what that something was, and he got past 2012, and nothing was there. I told my brother this, and he said, yea, according to the Mayan calendar 2012 is the date. This shocked me cause I had no clue about this Mayan calendar thing. Below is a link for reference.
