F=ma. W=mg
m=mass
g=gravity
F=force
W=weight--the units are in force not grams

EX: mass of an object = 3000 kg
gravity = 9.8 m/s^2 so the force of this object is 3000 X 9.8 or 29,400 kg-m/s^ or N

N=newtons
