First, know that (xyz)^2 = (x^1 * y^1 * z^1)^2
when using exponents, you multiply the exponent of the variable on the inside by the exponent on the outside. For example: (x^2)^2 = x^4 because 2 * 2 = 4.

therefore, we get (xyz)^2 = (x^2 y^2 z^2)
