I think it happens because life situations are unique to every person. You should be judged based on what you do with what you've got, since what you came into is not up to us.

It is obvious that you have been hit with so much conflicting information that you are confused.
let me see if you can accept some simple truths.
Nature invented death so she could have more abundant life.
Different standards for different people depend to a great extent on Heredity and an accident of birth.
We are creatures made of Pure Energy and we live in these shells so that we can exist in this environment.
When we die we leave these shells and enter another plane of existence.
There are three planes that I know of, but that is another element of living.
We are all born with the ability to learn to a greater or less degree. If we were communicating outside of this Yahoo thing, I could send you a video of a 3 year old girl performing as an adult, even to the facial expressions. That little girl is very talented but it does represent a good argument for either inhereted memory or Reincarnation.
Child prodigy's can not be explained by any other means.
You are just beginning to question and that is where you start learning.
I hope you have a good life.

I'm not so sure about past lives. Hindus believe that a person is born into a low caste because they deserved it for something they did in a past live, and many use this for justification for treating people such as untouchables as non-humans.
Human beings, no matter what you believe about spirtual aspects, have very physical bodies...soft machines, and like all machines, they can break, and they can have design flaws. We have rich and we have poor because of human nature. The truth of the matter is Americans have a high standard of living as a direct result of the slave trade, cheap forgeign labor and lax labor laws in the early 20th century. The only way to abolish class differences would be for humans to evolve to be more altruistic and less self serving, but we are not. It was the overlooking of this fact which was the fundamental flaw of communism. Forcing humans into an ideology which is counter to their nature seems to prove to create more misery than leaving well enough alone.

GOD creates everything equally, even the fly that lands on your hand is perfect. However, human nature takes over and starts dividing everything into yours and mine, and that's when we get different living standards.

Maybe the differences that we allow to matter so much to us are things which don't matter so much to God. Although we are "made in His image", we fall short of it in so many ways all the time. It would not surprise me if one of the ways we fell short was in making far too much of these differences. However, another way might be in making too little of them . . . oh, dear.
