I have discovered a higher level of this subject and each day find out more and more. So the thought is since a vacuum in a balloon will easily float better then helium if it is sustained then will it be able to sustain with a resistance ring? A vacuum evacuates too quickly because the weight of air is dominant and causes pressure to the container of the vacuum so it shrivels up. But would a container of vacuum inside a container of helium be able to sustain enough resistance long enough for them to react to lift?

I found the length and width of a paramecium using a microscope with a reticle and micrometer. Now I'm asked to find the volume of the paramecium using my measurements. The directions say to calculate the volume by selecting a formula for some regular shape that corresponds to the paramecium and, using the volume formula for that shape, find the volume of the paramecium. How do you find the volume of any shape without the height? I've thought of only one volume formula that doesn't use height(volume of a circle), but the problem with that one is that I don't know what to use as the radius. Help!

There seems to be an epidemic in my part of Sussex. Not seen it before, or I may have overlooked occasional cases, but this year there are lots. Burrowing rabbits mainly, but not all.

Actually the original problem is "Prove that the union of finitely many compact subsets is compact." I have shown that the union is closed. What is left is to show that it is bounded so that I can conclude that the union is indeed compact.

They've been in cahoots with Hollywood in faking their "space explorations" for some time now. Well at least since April 12, 1961, when Yuri Gagarin CLAIMED to have gone into space. Frankly, I don't think ANYONE has been to space much-less the moon. When do both NASA and the Russians plan to stop the charades?

And I don't care what any of you say.. we've never been to the moon OR SPACE! Bunch of gullible people... it's amazing how people will believe anything.
