suppose that the charges for a cell phone bill are $0.50 for the first minute and $0.25 for each additional minute. assume that a fraction of a minute is rounded up. how do i find a formula for a function "f" that computes the cost of a call that is "x" minutes long, where 0 < x <= 5? but writing it in a piecewise-constant fuction?

an explanation would be greatly appreciated and thanks for the help

I have so many inventions and ideas I wish I could just sell them off one by one to the highest bidder. That is how I feel at this point in my life. I have run into so much bad luck with the knowledge that I can change the world but have no way of making my inventions come to life. I drag on day to day trying to complete my inventions the best I can. I actually have an invention already in process but its been over a year and I am still trying to pay off the patent. Honestly if there is anyone out there that wants to make some money off my inventions I will be more then happy to work with them. If you want to just fund me for the materials or actually help me put it together or even want to by all rights to my inventions it is your choice.

In a variable expression, when a negative is changed into a positive because something is added to it, does the "-" sign turn into a "+" sign?

For example in this variable expression

-7a+3a-3c+5c

I know the first step is to add 7a and 3a which equals -4a

and then you add 5c to negative 3c which equals 2c

Is the final answer supposed to look like this: "-4a-2c"

or is it supposed to look like this because the 2c is now a positive?: "-4a+2c"

Next, the student stands at the edge of the pool and uses a protractor to gauge the angle of elevation at the bottom of the fountain to be 55.0°. How high is the fountain?
