catalyst--substance that decreases the activation energy of a chemical reaction without itself being changed at the end of a chemical reaction

pH is how sour something is.

A catalyst is a substance, which make a chemical process go faster, without being consumed or changed.

pH is -log (H+) ion concentration...Same as in chemistry

A catalyst is something that speeds up a chemical reaction but itself does not actually experience a chemical change.
