I am curious because I am writing a book, and since I am aware that gold is a fairly soft metal I would like to know if it would be possible to make a basket style sword handle out of a mix of gold and some other metal so that if it were to take a hit it would not colapse and and crush the sword user's hand.

I want to be a doctor, but am not that fond of science. it sounds stupid i know.

i have heard that the science is only used to get into medical school, and from there on is somewhat different.

i have good marks in science, but dont enjoy it. i could put up with a fraction of it.
Also- doctors- does training to be a doctor completely take over your life. It apprently takes 9 years to fully train- so what if i wanted to start a family?
is there enough time?

I saw someone light a beaker full of red bull energy drink on fire. She said it didn't matter if it was sugar free or regular, both would burn. Why will the energy drink burn like that?

For the people who have read the example of a creature in Flatland.. It says that a 2d being on Flatland will "see" a 3d sphere as a shadow if place above it.. the shadow will be that of a circle.. again a 2d right? It then says that for a 3d being the 4d also is seen as a shadow.. Can someone give me an example in our world.. An example of a "shadow" which is a 4d in our everyday experience? Or am I completely missing the point here....

It's only evolved once on our planet, and it looks like we'll kill ourselves within a few million years. Dinosaurs weren't intelligent, but survived for about 200 million years. Is it actually a disadvantage to long term survival?

Assume these are microscopic quantum black holes - either artificial or natural - and there is enough mass inside to stabilize them. Assume that these two or more black holes somehow came into a quantum entangled state - either during their formation - or by some other means.

Assume they are LIGHT YEARS apart.

What properties would they have?

How would a particle falling into one black hole affect the other?

apparently its very still but the idea of standing in that uber calm and have total raging chaos around you intrigues me as does extreme weather especially wind and storms, a charged atmosphere like that is just amazing. Dont get me wrong i know many people suffer through extreme weather and i feel for them but its the actual phenomena and power that intrigues me not the destruction to life and property. Any comments or experiences would be great, also i am thinking of a tornado holiday so any advise or experiences there would be welcome too.

Also, if 0 gravity, water goes into dreoplets- what would fire look like in 0 gravity?

Just curious...

if someone could help me with those, it would be greatly appreiciated!!

Just a few minutes ago, my father brought me into his room which had all electronics off. He said to me, "Do you see something in the TV?" Now, a little background check before this:
My father woke up early in the morning (like he does every weekend for the past 16 years), had a cup of coffee, got the newspaper (since it is Sunday) and worked on his truck. He has worked outside, every weekend for the past, 16 years! He's had a few beers (which don't affect him) and a few cigarettes (which don't affect him either). It was a normal Sunday until this question popped up.
After fighting with me and my mother, confirming we couldn't see anything in the television (he said he could see Jason X the movie, and an oldie movie in the TV) I brought him to my mothers TV to see if he could see something in there too, and he did (and we had the lights turned off as well).
I believe this might be something in his subconscious mind transferring to his eyes. What is he seeing? Has it been documented?
