Helium molecules leak slowly when there is barrier of Mylar Polymer and Aluminium in the way. Imagine Silver or Gold Metal Vacuumed into a sheet of Mylar Polymer.

Helium is inert and a single atom "looks" smaller than diatomic hydrogen (a molecule consisting of two hydrogen atoms usually found in nature). Latex rubber is composed of intertwined chains of polymer molecules that allow it to stretch until all molecules are pulled straight. Helium can fit throught the pores between the latex chains and leak. Mylar does not stretch as easily because the molecules are not a jumble of polymer chains like rubber.

Helium is a small atom and diffuses more easily than the substances in air. Mylar has very small pores compared to rubber balloons and the diffusion is reduced considerably as a result.

Helium molecules are smal enough to slowly leak through the latex. Mylar is truly airtight. Its that simple.
