1/9 = .111... (1 repeating forever)
9 *.111...= .999... (9 repeating forever)
9 * 1/9 = 9/9 = 1
Therefore .999... = 1
Agree or disagree?

3 men go into a motel. The man behind the desk said the room is $30, so each man paid $10 and went to the room.

A while later the man behind the desk realised that the room was only $25, so he sent the bellboy to the 3 guys room with the $5. On the way the bellboy couldnt figure out how to split the $5 evenly between the 3 men, so he gave each man $1 and kept the other $2 for himself.

This meant that the 3 men each paid $9 for the room, which is a total of $27, add the $2 that the bellboy kept = $29.

Where is the other dollar?

Is glass really a solid or a liquid? I've seen old glass that looked like it was dripping, but it was still really hard. And how can a liquid crack? Also, if it was a liquid, how come we can't put our hand or foot or whatever through it easily like we can with water? Yeah we can do it easily but it'd break. I think it's a solid, but I am curious to know other's opinions.

N = number of balls initially in a basket.
x = number of balls picked from the basket, each in turn, without replacing them.
Probability of picking a particular ball out of a full basket = 1/N.

Question:

1. There are N balls in the basket to begin with.

2. You pick "x" balls

3. You then put all the balls back, and again pick "x" balls

What is the probability that you have picked, in step 3, a ball you did not pick in step 2?

Thanks a lot for any answers.

I need to know how the following pure elements are ranked in terms of their malleability:

Iron
Cobalt
Nickel
Copper
Zinc

This is for a geocaching puzzle that I'm working on. I know how some of them are ranked already, but I want to double-check my answers to this as well. Thanks in advance.
