Plants need to take in CO2 from the atmosphere in order to photosynthesize. How does the CO2 get into the leaf?
Answer: Leaves have pores called stomata on the epidermal layer of the leaf. Stomata are the openings through which plants respire. The stomata are flanked by two guard cells, which control the size of stomatal openings. Guard cells thus regulate the flow of gas and water between the leaf and its environment. Plants typically close their stomata at night to avoid too much water loss.

Photosynthesis usually happens at daytime, when the sun is vailable for the plant to make food.

The food made is glucose, a type of sugar. This is made up of hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen. The hydrogen and some oxygen come from water (from the groung through the roots). The carbon and the rest of the oxygen come from the atmosphere (through the stomata in the leaf)

Knowing this, then we can say that stomata close at night since there is not much light for photosynthesis to happen. No photosynthesis, no need to take in CO2.

However, the oxygen still enters the plant through the lenticels, which are another type of opening in the plants dedicated to absorbing O2. That's how they take in O2, regardless of the time of day (or night).

well they close their stomata because the conditions are conducive for a stomata to be kept opened...as in their's no light etc. So it's not really a case of night/day, but whether the conditions are met.

Can't answer your second part of the question though...sorry... : )

some plant life end photosynthesising at evening, because of the actuality that there is not any sunlight. The stomata is used to permit mandatory components and waste products to be enable in/out, respectively. while the photosynthesis stops, there is not any longer a want for this.

I do not know but interestingly I realize the term stomata means mouths in Greek.
