The easiest, and really only, way to remember it is to memorize the conversion factor. In this case, it is about 2.54. You can try to think of some kind of mnemonic to help you with this number, but it is in essence memorizing either the number or a way to find it.
I've found it much easier to simply remember "2.54", instead of trying some more complex mnemonic like "25 goes into 100, 4 times..." or "a standard deck including 2 jokers has 54 cards..."
