Why do we have to change time twice a year ? Why don't we just move 1/2 hour ahead/back and be done with it ever ?

I hate to change my clock twice a year.

I have heard that most people use about 10% of their brains. Is there a test that can determine how much of your brain function you are using?

I have to memorize all the exact values for sin, cos, and tan. There's like 51 different numbers. Should I just go like one at a time and use flash cards or is there a better way?

Every time I see a cartoon of a molecule. I see atoms together to form a ball in the middle, and more atoms spinning around the atoms in the middle, like moons going around earth.

Why are they spinning around and what is making them spin?

When my mom started dying her hair, she didn't have a lot of white hairs. Flash forward a couple years later, and most of her head is covered in white. Why is that? I'm sure that if she hadn't started to dye her hair as often, she would probably still have more white hairs, but not as much. Some of my friends who are 15 even have white hairs, because they seem to dye their hair a lot... so I dunno, can you explain this to me?

I recently learned about Nuclear engineering and how it works. It seems very complicated and certainly the engineers there must be quite intelligent. But on TV and other sources, nuclear power plant workers are perceived as not very smart! Why is this? Clearly, to be an engineer, you must be smart. So why would working at a Nuclear power plant be almost like something that bad engineers or engineers low in ranking do? Is that true?

"Being able to selectively kill cells that harbor HIV is one of the holy grails of HIV research. Dr. Badley's group took a giant step when, in 2001, they accomplished the feat in a test tube. The experiment used a cloned apoptosis-inducing protein called TRAIL (TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand). In the study, which took place in Dr. Badley's native Canada, investigators took cells from HIV patients and exposed them to TRAIL in a test tube. The results were rewarding—cells that contained HIV died while HIV-negative cells lived."

Why does the TRAIL only kill the hiv cells?
Does anyone have a good explanation for how TRAIL works?
