A lot of it is done subliminally and unconsciously. So if a woman is attracted to a man, her pupils dilate. She has no control over this it just happens. When a man sees a woman with dilated pupils, he sees her as being more attractive than her appearance would normally rate. He doesn't consciously notice her dilated pupils.
The point is, this is done unconsciously, so it must be true.
Of course, a woman could say to a man, "I desire you." But he might not believe her, and whether he did or not, he might find it a bit weird, or desperate or it might just put him off.
So the eyes work better than the words.

It is very possible to convey information with they eyes only. Let the eyes do the talking, not the mouth.

There are also quite a few books on body language that can give you the specifics of how this works.

Our eyes cannot convey information. With our eyes we convey emotion and feeling. We can talk with our body language, our eyes, and tone of voice... simultaneously, to convey information. Utilizing our eyes as a stand-alone tool for information exchange probably won't get the essence of the info across.

Our eyes can show direction of interest from the way that they move. They can convey sensitivities to levels of light by opening and closing of both the lids and the pupil. You can also wink with them. And yes, I think of the eyes as the window of the soul.

Matthew 6:22-23 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

it is the communication of souls to tell who is good and who is not, childrens eyes are usually the best to commincate with for they haven't been influenced by enough bad adults. not all people can do it however, just look in peoples eyes and you will see the difference, its a great way of judging where someone is in their journey.

There is quite a range of emotions that can be expressed with the muscles around the eyes. Many of these expressions are universal. Eyes wide open can indicate surprise. Eyes downcast can indicate shame or non confrontation..

I believe language is limiting when compared to the expressiveness and depth of the eyes.

You "see" pain in peoples eyes..."hope" and so on. and I can't explain all of it because in this forum I am confined to words.

If the eyes are the windows to the soul then that is a tidal wave of emotion that no mere words can describe.

our eyes are a gateway to our souls, just try staring into the eyes of anyone and i guarantee you will come away from that person knowing more then you did before you looked. Also which is even stranger if you look into someones eyes they will feel the need to speak or make another expression on their face.
