Between 1992 and 1999, you added approximately 15 stamps per year to your collection. In 1997 you had 130 stamps. Find an equation that represents the number of stamps in your collection, y, in terms of the year, t. Let t=0 correspnd to 1992.

I don't want to hear that it's an intractable problem and cannot be solved. I want one of you smart people out there to DO it. Or at least give us your best strategy/theory/idea.

PS It will earn you 10 points. Remember, protractor and straight-edge only.

I live in the desert, and I usually wear short sleeves. Someone told me that, like the Bedouin in the Middle East, I should wear long sleeves and basically cover up when the outside temperature is higher than my body temperature, thereby insulating me from the higher outside heat. I know I feel cooler when I wear short sleeves and in general less clothing, but his logic seems to make sense.

1. Must involve exactly two distinct elements or compounds, of any state (solid, liquid, or gas).

2. Must NOT require a catalyst in any form, chemical, thermal, or otherwise. The reaction must happen at room temperature.

3. Must exist in some abundance. e.g. californium and kryptonite is not a good answer.

I WILL give the best answer to someone that lists credentials, even if its "science buff".

If it turns out to be toothpaste and baking soda, or something equally accessible, feel free to PM me the answer to keep children from blowing their hands off. I'll still make sure you get 10 points =D

I've seen double, triple and even quadruple rainbows because I live in the North where rainbows are amazing, but they are always ached one above the other on the same plane. I've never seen rainbows in different parts of the sky at the same time. Is that impossible, and if so, why...?

There seems to be many in the medical community who think that serotonin regulation with SSRI's are the key to treating depression. However, many earlier drugs have proved effective in treating depression such as MAOs, tricyclics, lithium. I am not arguing here which is more effective and has the least side effects. The question is the key really serotonin regulation in the brain or is there another cause to depression? I feel drug companies push SSRI's and say it is a chemical imbalance, because they sell chemicals and only their chemicals work.

There has been a study published that agreed that SSRI's work for depression, but that study showed that SSRI's worked in the exact opposite way that the drug companies have argued. I.e., to me it is still an open question as to what depression in the brain truly is.

Some scientists now believe that depression is an auto-immune disease of the brain. SSRI's and other anti-depressant medication suppress the immune system.
