Previous reply is not correct. The correct time is 81 seconds, irrespective of the amount originally present. After 27 seconds, half is gone. Half of what is left is gone after another 27 seconds, meaning tha 75% is gone and 25% is left. Half of that is gone after another 27 seconds, so 87.5% is gone.

Decays to 1/2 every 27 seconds. Depending on the size of you original sample, that could be about a minute if there are only 2 atoms worth, or a long time if you have a 100 kilograms.
