They roughly resemble the other cleavage, the rear-end. At least when squeezed together.

In general... Men are sexually stimulated visually, while women are sexually stimulated emotionally/psychologically. All it takes to arouse men is to view the site of breasts, legs, a cute tummy, or a nice round butt. That's all it takes to make us think of all the things we can do, and how great they would feel in the our hands.. Women on the other hand take alot more to arouse. For a woman foreplay starts between the ears. We have to say the right things, and we have to do the right things to attract a woman. It doesn't matter too much how we look, it matters what kind of car we drive, and what kind of clothes we wear, because women see a type of personality in these things. If a woman is attracted to a man in power she will go for the guy driving that Mercedes, wearing that power suit. If she is attracted to a bad boy, she goes for that guy on the bike. And so on.. Guys. All we need is a pretty view. Evolutionary side to it? We have to be attracted one way or another to ensure the survival of humankind.

The magazines Voloptuous,D-Cup & Big Boobs are especially devoted to this topic. But, the size is not really the main attractant. It has to do with shape, texture & symmetry. But,most importantly it's the femininization action of estrogen to the female chest during puberty that transforms the non-sexual looking body into a body that says take me now. Im fertile. Breasts must of been selected for due to the scarcity of food in our pre historic times. Something like that. Breast are fat calorie deposits on the front of the body. Also, in most pre-copulation scenarios. You first get to the breasts before going to full intercourse. The breasts are there to stimulate the female to a higher level of arousal. Breastfeeding too.

You're going to see a lot of answers to your question, and many are going to be humorous, but even so, many of those same answers will probably be somewhat right.

The long and short is, we're not 100% sure, but here is what we do know and some of the theories...

Primate evolution developed visual cues for males to know when a female was ready to mate. In no particular order, the following are some facts associated with man's obsession with female breasts....

-- Breasts (in general) are a by-product of female puberty and therefore transition from girl to biologically capable woman. It makes very little biological or evolutionary sense for an adult male to waste his time attempting to have sex with a non-reproductively capable person so therefore evolution hardwired men to respond in a sex-positive way.

-- In other primates, females gave males visual cues like reddened rounded buttocks when they were in heat... Scientists have suggested that when human females stopped giving one set of cues, they compensated by shifting the emphasis to another area.

-- Breasts also form part of the hourglass figure which is a sign of a sexually mature woman. This in turn signals men that a woman with prominent breasts is fertile and able to bear many children.

There are several other reasons but many of them can be distilled into one of the ones I've already listed. Ultimately, science hasn't proven anything with certainty yet.

Well, doesn't seem this is universal. In third world countries, where women are not covered, the attraction is not their. In places like that a woman's breast is a way to feed a young child.

To restated it, why are men attracted to women's breast in the first world? It may not be completely evolutionary. Seems they have to hidden from view before they are interesting.

Strange I'd say.

I think you'll find it is the fertility aspect. Men are biologically attracted to fertile females. Though we are in a show your breasts era, men are attacted to all the curves in females, because the hips and the relatively narrow waist that accentuates the hips, also is a fertility aspect, because that's where it all happens.

In times past, fashion has accentuated hips the way we accentuate breasts. Fashion will probably move that way again some time.

Note how slim models stand. Because it is is fashionable to be very slim, models stand with hips swayed to one side, to accentuate what hips they have.

A female breast is the source of food for survival from birth. Another girl can only remind men of the greatness of a mother.Mother of some one is attractive. There is a hidden desire that she should be the mother of my own child.

it's kinda scary but Captain_Ahab is right. The "crack" in the cleavage (when displayed) is very similar to the "crack" in the back. Think back to cave man before the "missionary" day's, what did he see. Then women took advantage of this to lure the men in.

big breasts mean lots of milk for the baby. The more milk for the baby, the more likely the baby will survive.

I don't think there is a good answer here. Maybe because we don't have them. Or cause society prizes them. Or because they are considered pornographic/off-limits. Or because what generally happens when we are seeing them/handling them is good things (fun, sex, love).

I wish I could tell you why I love them, but I cannot. I just do.
