Alright... now, I know that we have taken pictures of other galaxies in the universe ... but recently I was looking at a picture of the Milky Way (our galaxy, not a candy bar) and it had, down in the corner, 'actual photo' printed on it. Now, how would a 'space-ship' (one that takes pictures only), be able to travel outside of our galaxy in enough time to take pictures and bring (or send them at the speed of light) back to Earth? Considering our space technology has not been around that long?

Any ideas?? Serious answers only. (**for all the little kiddies... go find something better to do..)

Does this make sense to anyone else out there?

Even if it by a little at a time.. it would benifit us.. less weight, less work, and you could even go deeper under water cuz the weight wouldn't crush us!! It would open up a whole newworld.. is it possible???

Can a scientist who is in the 'know' tell me honestly how long we have before the Gulf Stream is fcuked and enough fresh water from the arctic melts and dilutes the Atlantic Conveyer and stops it and makes the film 'Day after tomorrow' (NASA, by the way, from what I've heard wasn't happy about some of the claims that film made - bit too near the truth apparently - and wanted it changed - a bit like the U.S. Army wanted the 'plausible liability' dialogue & Area 51 scenes changed in the film 'Independence Day') a reality! When do I need to by a Parka coat and my eskimo boots from the ex-military clothes shops etc., and to brush up on my survival training - I know it can't be too long now and it's not a case of IF but WHEN - could a good quality meteorological scientist and/or scientists give me the bottom line please !

One response readily on peoples' tongues is that we have too many problems at home to justify the exploration of space--a rationale that fails to take the facts into account. Economically, the program has provided a host of benefits, ranging from computers and other forms of communication to advances in fields ranging from clean energy to agriculture. Environmentally, the program has greatly enhanced monitoring and remote imagery, historic advances in meteorology and a unique view of Mother Earth as a fragile and beautiful place worth protecting and respecting. In other scientific disciplines, the program has provided vastly increased understanding of the universe we live in and new hope of dealing with its challenges. Politically, a program that began as a beacon of territorial pride has evolved into a mechanism for international cooperation unlike anything the world has ever experienced. Continuing the space program is an important investment in the future of human kind.

After a hot dry spell, there usually follows a thunderstorm. Once the storm hits, you get a wonderful smell (I've described it as hot tarmac mixed with meadow - but that is an inadaquate description - if you can do better, feel free).

Exactly what is it that I smell after a thunderstorm and has anyone managed to reproduce this as a scent?

Infiniteness of space and time

Time:
There must have been something burning since infinity years ago. However, it would burn out after sometime. Therefore anything burning should have burnt out infinite years ago. (-infinity + x =-infinity)
2nd law of Thermodynamics states in layman terms that heat always flows downhill. (Entropy will always increase) unless work is done ( Guess by who :) ) How then do we still have a sun burning.

Space:
Three states of matter( Solid, liquids,Gas) and then you have a vacuum all compose Space. if you were to keep 'flying' out of space you would never reach an end. If you hit a wall then the wall extends further out. and so on a so forth out to infinity

So Mathmatically in an infinite amount of time this limited energy would dissipate through and infinite amount of space, leaving zero energy in any bounded area.
