Nothing at all. Throughout history, none of the "richest people of their generation" were experts on anything in particular. Bill Gates launched the process by which he became the world's richest person without even having a college degree. Most others throughout history simply inherited their fortunes, or the power and means by which they eventually acquired it. Others were fortunate enough to stumble upon oil, or diamonds, or gold etc.
The experts of the world (top politicians, top doctors, top architects, etc) may do very well for themselves, but they are small fries compared to the street smart wise guy who just consistently happens to be in the right place, at the right time.
