Insulate, caulk all windows, etc.. AND use plastic to cover your windows. Go to your local LOWES or HOME DEPOT and they can help you will all of that and more...

good insulation is not only good for winter but summer as well
but you need a good ventilation of air flow ....
depends on the wind close the windows and doors that faces the wind blow and leave few open on the opposite gets the air flow without loosing much heat ...
plus check your boiler for its suffiency
if you have fire place turn off the boiler when you are home
when going to sleep try opening ur window up a little bit and use
thick cover or blanket you wake up feeling energized from fresh air since during winter peole stay indoors with trapped heated air

Other than insulation, you can do the obvious like keeping the doors and windows shut.

calking any holes or cracks in the walls, and insulating the attic.
