I know that eating tuna fish is bad for already pregnant women due to the mercury levels in the fish, and that it can cause birth defects in the fetus/baby.

But what I really want to know is, if I eat a lot of tuna fish now, when I wish to try to have a child, to conceive, will it still be a problem? Will the mercury cause infertility? I can't really find anything specific in my searches online, so maybe a website or two would help.

What is the reccommended weekly ounce ratio of tunafish consumption? It's not like I'm binging on the stuff, but in my incredibly busy, on-the-run, no-time-for-a-proper-meal schedule, those non-drain pouches of tunafish are VERY convienant and filling, and (supposedly) healthy. Is once every week or so too much?

What other foods should "trying to conceive" women watch out for?

I am 39 years old, and I have a wonderful little boy who will turn 5 in April. I am in a fairly happy marriage, we both have very good jobs (more fun than money) and we enjoy life in general. Yet now that I have almost come to the end of my fertile age, I feel I would miss out if I wouldn't have another child. I am worried about my son growing up alone, and about how our little family will be so little for ever. But I also know how much worries and work a baby brings, and that I already have trouble with depression. My age also brings higher risks for the baby, it might not be healthy (1 in 90 chance of having a baby with Downs Syndrome), and that would just about kill me. So many worries... what to do?

At least i think it's a period! Last period was jan 20-25th. Had brown spotting 2 weeks after my period for 2 days, 7 days after that spotting started up again and last 5 days...Feb 16th i started bleeding and it was dark red but only came out when i went pee..wore a panty liner for the first 2 days of the bleeding and nothing touched the panty liner but when i went pee it seems like the blood would pour out and it soaked the toilet paper when i wiped...3rd day of bleeding i started wearing tampons so i'm not sure if the blood is still staying in...

Note: I starting using progesterone cream feb 10th could this have anything to do with it??

Husband and I would like to conceive.

I thought i was suppose to start my period around feb 20th according to my calculations.. cycle was 27 days long

I have been trying to conceive for a few months. Recently I got my period because I took Provera to cause it, but it only lasted ONE day when it usually lasts 5-7 days. Could that mean that I'm pregnant?

I had unprotected sex last night with my boyfriend for the first time (we always use condoms, but last night was the first time in the month we've been together that we've been drunk around each other). He....finished....inside me and this morning, I started my period, right on time. Is there a chance that I can get pregnant? If so, how big of a chance?

okay, first of all, don't start telling me that "you're sick of hearing this question" because all i want is some advice.

here are my symptoms:
bloating
nausea (from 6am - 9am usually)
2 weeks after my period was due, i had a 4 day light period (not even heavy enough for a tampon)
and white discharge

i took a pregnancy test on the sixth, and it came out negative, then took another one on the nineteenth and it still came out negative. but i've heard that the pee tests could come out negative throughout the whole pregnancy, the only accurate one is the blood test.

i don't have any way to get to the doctors, so kinda screwed. i just want some advice. although i really hope that i am pregnant. it would make my wish come true.

From the day of ovulation until your estimated next period, there is usually a two week wait. I want to know as SOON as it happens.

I'm starting off with I am NOT on any type of birth control...Anyways for some unknown reason I stopped having a period and went without for little over a year, Had several and some blood tests done and all were perfect nor do i have PCOS! Anyways my doctor wanted to try a progesterone challenge on me 10mg for 7days to see if that would induce a period. It did i finally had a period jan 20-25th. 2 weeks after my period stopped i had spotting for two days then it stopped well 7 days after that i started spotting again as the time went by the brown discharge got heavier and started turning pink then dark red. It seemed as if i started my period the only thing is, it wasnt coming out i wore panty liners the first two days and nothing got on it but when i went pee blood seemed to have poured out and soaked the toiley paper when i wiped..I started wearing tampons and those get soaked as well..I passed 3 clots bigger than quarter size and had bad stomach pains last night feb 19th.

I'm not meaning to be nasty at all but when people ask on here what they can do to improve their chances of getting preggers they keep getting advised to take folic acid. That's not stictly correct.

Folic acid is important to take to help prevent birth defects but, as far as I'm aware, it doesn't actually improve your chances of conceiving. I've had ivf treatment and you obviously get lots of advice and Dr's expert opinions and I was advised to take it but NOT to help me conceive but for the reasons I've mentioned (which are highlighted below).

I usually have a 30 day cycle. The past two cycles have been 42 days (not sure why but I was doing some travelling between the US and Germany at the time). Should I count myself as being late after 30 days or 42 days? I'm on day 35 right now.

I had my 1st period in a year jan 20-25th dues to a provera challenge for 7 days that my doctor tried on me..I had every blood test done ect and everything was perfect, nor do i have PCOS. I'm not sure if being underweight is the reason i am 5'3 and i weigh 108lbs..Anyways I had a regular period however it was pretty heavy and bad cramps due to not having one for over a year but it lasted the usual 5 days..anyways 2 weeks after my period i had spotting for 2 days only, about a week after that i started spotting again which lasted 5days of brown discharge then it started turning pink then dark red and only came out when i went pee and soaked the toilet paper when i wiped I wore a panty liner for 2 days and for those 2 days one tiny drop got on the liner other than that it stayed inside me, im still bleeding and now wearing a tampon. I have passed 3 clots bigger than the size of a quarter and last nite i had really bad stomach pains but could have also been due to nyquil? what you think

I have been trying to get pregnant for monthes now and the last time, my doc prescribed a fertility pill. I have only had a chance to be trying for a week now. I have woke up nausiated and my nipples are quite sensitive. Could it be possible to already be feeling symptoms? We began making the effort last Saturday and so it has only been a week and three days of trying.

I have been tested, poked, looked at and had blood work taken. I have been told that my right tube is blocked but my left one is open and fine. I was tested to see if I ovulated and the test came back as I have ovulated and popped an egg. My husband was also checked and his results were great as well, no problems.
I have been told that I can get pregnant on one ovary so that is not a problem. I am losing weight as instructed and have lost 22 pounds so far. I have tracked my temperature before but never really worked.
So I don't know what else to do. My doctor says to keep trying as she schedules a laproscope for my right one.
I am just wondering whats wrong when I have been told that I can get pregnant.
