I usually have a 30 day cycle. The past two cycles have been 42 days (not sure why but I was doing some travelling between the US and Germany at the time). Should I count myself as being late after 30 days or 42 days? I'm on day 35 right now.

Day 42. Your cycle is never a set thing. Always count from the previous month's cycle.

I wouldn't count myself as being late until after the 42 days. Just because you have had a cycle that has been that long in the past. Also, if you're trying to conceive it may be difficult to see a false negative and spend money when you could have just waited. I know it's though but I would wait it out. If in 10 more days your af is a no show, then I would test.

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

I would say you just have to wait past the 42 days since the last 2 periods, then you would know for sure! Or you can take a home pregnancy test right now.

Traveling can sometimes do this to your cycle so i wouldnt worry to much, I would count myself late after cycle day 42...Good luck!

after 30 days and have a blood test its always much mire accurate.
