Yes a pregnancy test will give you an accurate result 99.9% accurate as any other woman. So go ahead and use a hpt

WHY:hcg the hormone that your body produces during pregnancy can only be increased when you are pregnant no other hormonal problems etc..effect hcg levels every woman naturally has a 5mul of hcg in her body this is no were near enough to cause a pregnancy test to become positive also medication can make your hcg levels rise slightly this isnt enough to cause a false positive pregnancy test.So if you are pregnant it will show on a test accuratly and if your not you will get a accurate negative. The most sensitive pregnancy tests on the market is 25mul of hcg so even if it was effecting your hcg it would only be by about 4-5mul so still woulnt be enough for the most sensitive tests to detect

Yes a pregnancy test is fine with PCOS. As long as you wait until at least 2-3 days before your expected period you should have no problem with the test (unless it is done wrong). I actually used the clearblue digital 3 days before my expected period and it popped up pregnant and I was. I did get faint positives for 2 days before I tried the digital because I got tired of looking at lines. I tried for 4 1/2 years to get pregnant and so I have taken probably a hundred pregnancy tests. They were negative when they were. PCOS causes hormone imbalance meaning with estrogen and progesterone so the pregnancy hormone (HCG) does not even exist unless you are pregnant. Therefore it would show up.

Pregnancy tests look for a specific hormone (hcg) that isn't present in your body otherwise...even with PCOS. However, if you've been undergoing fertility treatment with cetain medications that contain hcg, they can affect a pregnancy test.

If you're taking metformin, or metformin and clomid, you'll get an accurate result. If you're using injectable medications, you may need to speak with your doctor.

It's OPKs that can be problematic if someone with PCOS is not being treated and is trying to use them.

yeah, i dont think it makes a difference to hormone levels in the urine etc. i have the syndrome and have been trying to conceive for about 2 years now and ive done loads of tests!! all negative so far :( but thats not to say when i finally am it wont show up on a test. i think the digital tests are easier to read, if you've got the budget for them, that is. hope you get there soon xx

if you're that late (3 months). you would have a favorable being pregnant try by now. from time to time it has taken me like per week after a neglected era to attempt effective, yet no longer that lengthy. I absolutely have pcos, too and it does reason irregularity. i imagine you should pass to the dr.

I would go straight to the doctor. A blood test will be the easiest and most accurate way of getting results

people with pcos who do fall pregnant will still be able to do a pregnancy test however it is always best to go to your gp and get the pregnancy confirmed whether you have fertility problems or not. good luck
