Not too common, strange, cute or harsh... we like androgynous names, surnames that could be used as given names, they can't be closely related to a colour or plant and can't end in the sound 's' (due to the surname), we're open to names from various cultures (but please tell us how to pronounce non-English names).

I am looking for a Biblical or hebrew baby name for a girl. I would love any and all suggestions, but I usually don't like names that are trendy or on the top 100 lists. I've already been on a bunch of baby name websites and just haven't found the right name yet.

My other daughter's name is Shoshannah, so something along those lines.

Thanks!

I'm not pregnant now, and don't plan to be for about 18 months-2 years, but my boyfriend and I are having a disagreement about what to name our future son. I like the name Cortez and he likes the name Isaiah. They don't really work together, so we can't use one as a first and the other as a middle. Both have some negative associations (the explorer Cortez and the newly fired Isaiah Washington), but we are firm in our decisions. Which name do you all prefer? (My daughters are Juliana and Olivia)

I was answering questions on the baby names part of this and I noticed that alot of people are very oppionated about baby names so I thought I would put myself on the chopping block and see if my childrens names are up to par. But please remember they are all ready born and named except the last one( he's not here yet) so suggestions on the first two are pretty pointless but if you dont like the third I will take suggestions on that.
My oldest is Nicholas Adam Bryce
Next is Aiden Gage
And the third one is going to be Liam Bryan Colter (were calling him Colter) I will tell you why we chose this name... Liam is Irish for William, my fathers name was William he died when I was very young and I wanted to honor him but I really dont like the name William and his Middle name was Richard and I dont want people calling my son Dick so Liam was the best alternative I could think of, and were Irish so it fits. Colter I just like and Bryan is my father in law.

We are having trouble w/ names for this one. Here's some ideas, but we just can't find one we both really like. What do you like best. Do you have any other suggestions? We prefer something not too common.
Caleb, Cole, Colton, Camden, Kail, Kane, Kyler
(Cade, Chase, Bryce, Aiden, Jacob, Matthew are a few names we can't use due to other family members etc having them)

I don't know what i'm having yet...only 16 weeks along. But what are your guys favorite names for either sex??? The most unusual names get the 10 pts. I'm thinking of Danika Marie for a girl and Avery Alexander for a boy. Thanks :)

So after my last ultrasound we were finally able to tell that it is in fact a babygirl. Which shocked everyone because they swore it was a boy! Girls run in my family so I kind of had this gut feeling that I kept to myself! Of course, we had tons of boys picked out but that's not use now!!! Girl names seem to be a struggle for us though...

I had the name Akirya in mind.

But the more I say it i'm not so sure anymore! So I was thinking just plain Kirya? But then I'm worried people will not understand the way that I want it pronounced.

NOT like Ki-ra
or Kierra

I guess Kir -RUH??

Hmm, sorry if i'm losing some of you! I just get so annoyed when people pronounce things wrong!! So maybe a little in-put on what you think would be helpful.

And her middle name will without a doubt be Lynn. Yes, it's common. But I plan to keep it in the family. Follow my late grandmother, mother, and myself!

I want to name my daughter Alannah (one variation of the spelling). And I want her middle name to be either Katherine (my prefered spelling) or Mae (spelling is staying on this one). Both of the middle names are family names so neither is prefered over the other but one of them is staying. And no, I only want one middle name)

What middle name would you use and how would you spell both of them (if the name doesn't already have a set spelling)
