Can you please help - we are stuck for a name for our forthcoming baby boy. We live in the uk (so not chip or hank), and not chav!

A little more information would be very helpful for this question. A long last name might be better with a short first name, a common last name is better with a slightly unusual first name. A name that has deep personal meaning for you is always best.
Marks, Matthews, Dougs, Alans, and Williams seem to usually be nice people.

Not sure if it will help but we named one of our lads Kennedy Malachi. I thought of the 'Kennedy' as I had a mate in the army called Lincoln.
Our second lad finished up as Howard Geoffrey Carter - part of which we got from the archaeologist Howard Carter, we liked the sound of the name.

As I like history if I had to choose now I think I would lean towards Hector.

look back at both sides of your family see if a boys name comes up twice try putting names you like down on paper with your surname see which suits best all round.our boy is called Tom after his late grandad good luck with your happiest time of your life hope all goes well
