I want to name my daughter Alannah (one variation of the spelling). And I want her middle name to be either Katherine (my prefered spelling) or Mae (spelling is staying on this one). Both of the middle names are family names so neither is prefered over the other but one of them is staying. And no, I only want one middle name)
What middle name would you use and how would you spell both of them (if the name doesn't already have a set spelling)

Alanna easy, teachers, state employees, etc. can't really mis- pronounce that. Kathrynn is different for a classic name.

I like the spelling Alannah. Its prettier looking with the H on the end than just plain Alana. I think that the spelling would also depend on the way you want it pronounced. I would pronounce Alannah different than I would pronounce Alana or Alaina.
I think the middle name would depend on what your last name is. If you have a long last name, I would use Mae, shorter last name Katherine.

I like Alannah (so people get that it's an "o" sound in the middle) and I like Mae best. Both sound good but I like Mae better. My daughter's first 2 initials are AM and her godmother (my hubby's sis-now deceased) was named May. My mom had an aunt named Mae.
