My husband and I are due with a little girl on the eighteenth, and we can't decided on a first name. The middle name will be Katherine, because it is a family name. The last name is Cedars

I like Elisabeth, Georgia, Charlotte, and Augusta.

He wants Lindsay, Madison, Sadie, or Isabel.

So obviously, I am a bigger fan of the classics, while he prefers newer, more popular names.

What names can you suggest that we could both agree on?

I am 7wks 3 days, and had a 2nd ultrasound this morning.(first one was to determine how far along I was, and I am high risk because of a miscarriage that happened in 2005) Well they could not detect a heartbeat, I saw the sac and she did say that it was much bigger than my scan a little over 2weeks ago. I am so stressed out, and worried. I just can't stop crying because I think that it's (miscarriage) happening again. Have anyone else out there experienced this, or know anything. If it helps I think I conceived the first or second week in January, but they're going by the first day of my last cycle, which was December 18th.

I see so many people ask "What do you think of (insert any and all names here)?" Does it honestly matter? If someone on Y!A comes on and says "That name is horrible, your child will grow up wanting to smother you in your sleep," are you really going to change it if it's something you really like? Or if you like it, but say your parents don't, or your grandmother doesn't, does the postive feedback of people you'll never meet make you feel better? What about the abusive comments? Wouldn't you rather just roll your eyes at Grandma complaining than get chewed out by strangers for what they perceive to be a dumb name?

I guess I just don't get it. My husband and I picked out names for our baby and said, "This is it." Our parents like the name we have for our daughter, good for them. My extended family is more on the side of "Alrighty then," and my opinion on that is "Too bad for you, it's my kid."

To all who ask: Name your child what YOU want--it's YOUR child.

That is the only name that my husband wants to name our son. He really won't budge on it. He said for short we can call him Van (makes me think of Van Wilder) I think it's kind of cute, but not sure, plus I don't think I can change his mind. The middle name will probably be Lee. Thanks!

She is unsure on what to name them though! She doesn't want anything TOO wierd and wonderful, but not too normal either. She already has two sons, Jacob and Hayden and a daughter, Ebony. She is having two girls and they are identical if that helps!

here are some ideas for a girl... Scarlett Rose, Presley Ilise, Axelle Raven, Lena Sky.
Please note - I am not fanatic about "typical" names but still want a name that can be pronounced correctly so no Crystals, Lafawndas, Karens, Saharas or anything of that nature. Thank you!

Like, everyone I know with a name like Marcus, Julian, Jason, Austin, etc has a personality matching the sound/meaning of the name (masculine) and the same for girls named Helen, Elaine, Abigail, Ashley, etc. (Feminine)
Anyone else notice this?
