Not sure about Mariella but I love the name Alexa, that is my niece's name, and we call her Lexie.

Mariella is a beautiful name, but her first name ends in an A, so her middle name shouldn't begin with one, because it doesn't flow so well.

reverse the name to Alexa Mariella and it sounds perfect. i love it! kudos for picking two very original names for your baby girl.

I like it a lot. It is uncommon but not strange. I would call her Ellie! Just a thought though, perhaps Alexis would flow better? That way you don't have the redundant "ah" sound. Good luck and good choice!
