Please not Jaylen, I agree with some of the others, this name is too common. Every few years a name gets too popular, as with the Jaylen/Jaden/Jayden etc. Ask yourself do you want your son to be one of 5 boys in his grade with the same sounding name? Trust me it happens, in my kindergarteners class there is a Kaden, McKade, Kade, and Caden, how confusing! Find something that fits him so that he won't be one more of all the other Jaylens. Find a website that lists the top 100 for last year and work from the bottom up, instead from the top down. Good luck

i am 22 weeks pregnant and if i was having a boy i was gonna name him jaylen but it is a girl. i found out that jaylen and jayden are the most popular name choices for 2007 so if you want a common name choose jaylen if not keep trying. the name is really nice tho. good luck!

Hooray to you for saying no to the ghetto names. I feel so bad for the kids when they have names that make no sense.

Try picking up one of those 1001 baby name books and just start reading page by page. I did that and made a list as I went through. I was then able to narrow down based on the list.

Good luck!

Jaylen is nice, my nephew is named that. My advice is not to pick something that will "date" the child...i.e. everyone will know roughly what decade he was born by his name...fad names. Also don't pick something that is "worn out". I like the name Carter for a boy...strong and masculine.
