My husband and I are due with a little girl on the eighteenth, and we can't decided on a first name. The middle name will be Katherine, because it is a family name. The last name is Cedars
I like Elisabeth, Georgia, Charlotte, and Augusta.
He wants Lindsay, Madison, Sadie, or Isabel.
So obviously, I am a bigger fan of the classics, while he prefers newer, more popular names.
What names can you suggest that we could both agree on?

There isn't one name that you both like, even a little? Elisabeth Katherine is absolutely beautiful. Tell your husband you don't want her to have the same name as every kid in her class. That's so boring. There's a Madison EVERYWHERE. It's so unoriginal.
I'm voting for your names, stay classic. When she's 50 she still has to be called this name, and she won't want it to be Madison or Lindsey. They're cute little girl names but not cute woman names.

Stick with the classics - every other little girl is named Lindsay, Madison, Isabel and Sadie
Elisabeth Katherine is wonderful.
Georgia is also great .

Well Sadie Cedars sounds kind of like a housing development... Madison and Isabelle are over used today.... Lindsay is okay, Lindsay Elisabeth Cedars
The names you like are very traditional... again... Georgia Cedars sounds like a housing development... Elisabeth Katherine Cedars is quite a mouthful...
I think either Lindsay Katherine Cedars or Charlotte Katherine Cedars.

My faves are Elisabeth, Sadie and Isabel.
Sadie - princess
Elisabeth - God is my oath
Isabel - God is my oath
So don't put Elisabeth and Isabel together. According to babynames.com, people like them in this order: 1. Sadie, 2. Isabel, 3. Elizabeth
Lindsay has a boring meaning, and so does Madison, Georgia ( unless you guys are farmers, or close to the earth or gardeners), Charlotte has a cool meaning, plus you could do a Charlotte's web theme for the nursery, and Augusta is cool but very few people like the name.

Elisabeth Katherine Cedars
or
Lindsay Katherine Cedars
I like Isabel too.
Narrow it down to 2 names. 1 of his & 1 of yours. Then you flip for it or compromise.

I can give you a few classics that are now popular as well: Olivia, Samantha, Abigail, Madelyn, or Laura. I like Elisabeth best of your choices and Isabelle from his but if you don't agree on any of each others start over and pick some new ones. One of my favorite names ever is Victoria Katherine. Good luck with everything!
