Yes, I notice that certain people contain certain personality traits that go along with their names. But not always. Can I ask a question? My name is Victoria. Do you notice any traits that go with Victoria?

I think the type of name the person has has a lot to do with how confident they are. If its a strong name then they seem to be strong, same goes for week names week confidence. The odder (unique) the name the odder the person. Not that I have anything against odd names, I just have seen it a lot where I live.

Yes, I have read many articles on it, and it seems to be the consensus that names and their meanings somehow match the person. Also when looking for a name, everyone has a feeling of what he person would look like based on name alone..a mental picture so to speak.
Like my son, his name is associated with intelligent, funny, easy going, and western..which he is all those ( except western).
My second son his name is attached to emotional, clown, street smart, stubborn..and low and behold that child is every one of them.
My daughter however is only 7 months old, and as of right now I can tell you her name has mental pictures attached to it of beauty, grace, determination and curiosity..Well, she is definately curious, she crawls to investigate everything, also she is very determined, tonight she pulled herself up..and of course being her mother I think she is beautiful.
So, yes I notice this, and took it into consideration when naming my children. It seems also that when meeting a person with a name that fits them, you also meet peole whose names just do not fit their personality at all.

i've actually thought a lot about this and i agree to an extent but it doesnt always hold true...
like this one guy i know... he's dated pretty much every girl named ashley because i guess they have similar personalities...
on the other hand... these two girls my age... both named brittany... couldnt be more different: ones a nice, earthy chick and the other is a popular preppy type

I absolutely believe that names have A LOT to do with how a child's personality develops. Obviously, things happen in people's lives that change them, but I think that the name you are called directly influences aspects of your personality.

No. If you want an example how about that actor Judge Reinhold. He didn't grow up to be a judge and has acted in about 75 movies (including Beverly Hills Cop).

Shakespeare: What's in a name...
You have to be creative when you name your kids. Cos it sucks to have thousands of other people with the same name as your's. It gives their friends a hard time when looking them up in the phonebook.
