There are many many questions here on yahoo answers, that refer to christians, moslems, atheists, neo-cons, liberals, democrats, repuplicans, immigrants etc etc.
While a lot are obviously asked frivolously, many are serious in their intent.
I have found that, if I think of other people as "people", rather than categorizing them as some'thing' or other, I am forced to empathise and have to form a reasoned, coherent opinion. One that is not based on dogma or tradition or predjudice.

Could more solutions be found to more problems, if we only started to think of each other as "people".

The amendments are enumerated not titled before some of you ninnies start claiming otherwise.

It only says that congress shall not make a law establishing a religion. Nothing about prohibiting congress from making religion illegal.

After talking to a christian friend about his religion, I asked him if he thought that since his religion was the "absolute right one" that it should run the country, he then proceeded to tell me about how there are no degrees of right and wrong, so for instance if you steal something that is just as bad as killing someone according to him ??? If this kind of thought process was applied to a government we would have the death penalty for stealing, killing, car jacking, jaywalking? This one of the many reason i think why religion should never be put in power, because the result is death and torture

say America needs more freedom?! Thought of the Moment:

If you want total security, go to prison. There you're fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking... is freedom. -Dwight D. Eisenhower, U.S. general and 34th president (1890-1969)

Shouldn't we judge each individual separately and not the entire religion? I mean it is not fair how we are judging Muslims. Muslims make up about 22% of the world's population. If most Muslims were extremists we would be seeing a lot more attacks. It is just not right, that in this day and age in America, that this kind of prejudice is going on when and what makes it worse is the media and the government, who just fan the flames of tension with war and lies.

Scientists now say that dark matter, which is some sort of fundamental building block of the universe -- there's more dark matter than anything else, but we have no idea what dark matter is. We think it has something to do with, you know, forcing this universe in its expansion but we also think it's the glue that holds it together and it's -- I have no idea. But we've never been able to observe it and so it's been behaving the way it always has. Well, now we've observed dark matter and scientists believe that now that man has observed dark matter, it has selected its course and it's now collapsing in on us and we're all going to die, smothered by dark matter.

Here's why I pass this story on to you. I don't know about you, but I didn't observe dark matter. Did you observe any dark matter lately?

I wasn't in my giant SUV observing dark matter. The scientists were. Don't blame me, scientists. Oh, I've got my little SUV that's going to make the world a little hotter. You're collapsing the universe! Which one of us suck more for nature? I'm only wrecking the planet. You've destroyed the entire universe! Thanks a lot!

Now, here's what I'd like to begin. I would like to offer to scientists dark matter offsets. You write me a check for $1,000 and I will not observe dark matter so you can. I promise I will not observe dark matter. Now, that's $1,000. I will get my family to not observe dark matter for $5,000. That's a yearly thing. These are just dark matter offsets, and every year we have to do it. And we have to reduce the observation of dark matter quickly. We are running out of time, and if we don't reduce our observation of dark matter, the universe will collapse on us.

During the Cold War, the B52 could carry enough nuclear weapons to make me the single largest mass murderer in the history of man. I am proud of the fact that by doing my job, I never had to do my job. I am partly responsible for the end of the Cold War. But each time I hear of some insignificant country getting nuclear weapons or other countries losing nuclear weapons, I weep. The time for the Cold War is over. The time for a new Cold War is ripe and is very very wrong. I believe that all the major powers should stop the proliferation by all means possible, with military force being the last means possible choice.

School plays, pagents, etc., in 'keeping' with that seperation : What about the Tax Money spent for "FOOT WASHING FACILITIES" at TAX supported entities ???
HHUUUMMM, does this ol' codger see something that is not there?? Has my 'Gray Matter' gone off into another universe ?? Or as a friend stated " YOU ARE HAVING A SENIORS MOMENT" !!!! Is this an obvious indication / display of a "DOUBLE STANDARD"???
If I remember "WAY BACK " in the 1950's and 1960's when I was in the middle east, there was / is a religious entity, which 'requires / promotes foot washings, before prayer,' AND U.S.A. TAX MONEY WAS SPENT PUTTING IN THOSE FOOT WASHING FACILITIES, IN SOME UNIVERSITIES, AND PUBLIC PLACES !!!
How does OUR "Palutiticions" account for this ??

I understand and agree illegals should be sent back, but I get the impression from some posts that it goes beyond that. Like we should attack Mexico, or shoot border crossers on sight. I just think people should look at the issue sensibly.
