I'm interested in hearing from anyone, but mostly from those that disagree with the United States policies. If the United States is the "Great Satan," what should we be doing to be the "Great... uh... Non-Satan?"

I don't see how in can be unless they ban male circumcision as well because of the 14th amendment providing equal protection under the law. A felmales prepuce protects the clitorus and covers it. The male prepuce does the same thing with the glands. It is true that some East African cultures go farther and remove the clitorus along with the prepuce.

We wouldn't uphold a law stating that it was unlawful to remove a baby girl's eyelid but it's ok for boys. But circumcision is treated diffrently.

And don't say it's medical nessessery, it was brought to the US to prevent boys from masturbating. And other cultures do it to please their invisible man in the sky.

Or do they support the "value voters" in Pakistan who believe in "traditional values" and turning back the clock back to the 15th century?

=======================
More than anything, most in Lyari are loyal to the memory of Bhutto's father — Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, a prime minister known for socialist policies that brought jobs, housing and health care to the poor, but who was hanged in 1979 by the military dictator who had forced him from power.

Some believe it is their obligation to support Bhutto out of respect for her father and what he and his political party did for the poor.

Closed minded - when anyone disagrees with a liberal.
Compromise - when you do what a liberal wants.
Freedom - when liberals get their way.
Unbiased - when it leans left.
Condescend - what a liberal does to those who don't agree with them.
Bipartisan - when a republican votes for a democrat bill.

Have you ever noticed that a liberal thinks they speak for the American people?

I have to post this at least once a week or I feel empty inside, LOL.

... when only 1/3 of the government is elected by the people?

The Legislative branch is the only branch of the government elected by the people. The Executive branch has the President and Vice President elected by electors, then the remainder of the branch appointed by the President (with confirmation by the Senate). And the Judicial branch is also appointed by the President (with confirmation by the Senate).

Does this sound like a "Democracy" to you? If you think it does, please explain.

The lyrics are taken almost verbatim from the King James version of the Bible (Ecclesiastes 3, verses 1–8).

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones
A time to gather stones together

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time of war, a time of peace
A time of love, a time of hate
A time you may embrace
A time to refrain from embracing

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time to love, a time to hate
A time of peace, I swear it's not too late!

I'll be the first to tell you that an individual weather event doesn't tell you anything about global warming. However, look at all the extreme weather trends we're seeing in the US right now:

A huge drought in the southeastern states, along with droughts in the southwest and northwest:

http://www.drought.unl.edu/dm/monitor.html

The drought in the southwestern states which has already lasted 10 years is expected to last for 90 more:

http://www.livescience.com/environment/070405_southwest_drought.html

Increased numbers of severe wildfires in the western states, most recently the San Diego wildfires:

Taken all together, could these extreme weather events be indicative of global warming?

Hypothetical situation. For illustrative purposes lets assume you are white. You work in a factory of about 20 people. You are the only white person, and it the factory consists of mostly Hispanic people and a few black people.

Your supervisor is black. He is constantly ripping on you for being white. He is always taking about how your people should just go back to England...even though you ask him to leave you alone the harassment gets worse and worse. One day he start talking about how sexually attracted he is to 12 year old white girls. He is laughing at you as he goes on and on about this in a very serious tone, and describes some of the 12 year old white girls living in his neighborhood. He has technically done nothing illegal by saying these things, he is just trying to get a rise out of you, so that he can prove that you are an outta control European animal. You tell his supervisors and the owners, who are his buddies and are also black. They give him "a good scolding

.
we all know or should know that Blackwater killed those people without provocation. Few are at all that impressed that the 'feds' are conducting an investigation. The 'feds' are always investigating something. They investigated 911, Katrina, other air disasters, and now the California fires. (What do you bet that someone or ones were responsible for those terrible fires also.)
Fact is, the' feds' have little clout anymore. People simply make up their own minds, and rightly so. Govenrment is all mouth and paper. Nothing substantive anymore.
No need for more lip service or paper.

Blackwater employees killed those people without provocation.
Period.......End...............Dot.

In Politics, especially, if you disagree with someone elses viewpoint, why don't you state that you disagree and why and not get all personal. Taking snipes at the elected officials is one thing, they are public figures and subject to sniping, but for someone just answering a question with their viewpoint to be harassed is beyond the pale. I can think of one poster on Y!A that has received email death threats from another poster at one time and I have seen postings that threaten everything thing from calling for a strifing attack on their home to having someone threaten me with contacting the CIA and telling them I am a terrorist, to which I responded if it make them happy, to go for it. Why is this such a vitriolic area on Y!A? Even the R&S doesn't get this worked up.
