I'm interested in hearing from anyone, but mostly from those that disagree with the United States policies. If the United States is the "Great Satan," what should we be doing to be the "Great... uh... Non-Satan?"

Sorry for not mentioning earlier, I'm not interested in what bad things the U.S. is doing now. I'm interested in what the U.S. should be doing, in your opinion.

Those who consider us the 'Great Satan' are mostly radical Islamists in the middle east. I doubt many of them frequent these forums. But if they did, they would probably say that we should not interfere with other countries affairs, convert to Islam, and develop a less 'offensive' culture by covering up women and stoning homsexuals to death.

My thoughts are that doing humanitarian work, choosing peaceful diplomacy over war, doing what we can to prevent genocide would help improve our image. But good and bad are relative. I will probably get thumbs-downed for merely suggesting that having a peaceful foreign policy might be a good thing. Right and wrong are in the eyes of the beholder.

I believe we are already doing our best to contribute to the world. Relatively speaking we are a very small nation of 300 million people. We are a leader in the world. If you have traveled any, then you also know what a much farther advanced country this truly is. We have never seen poor people like there are in other parts of the world. Private donations and charities are doing all they can to assist those that are not as well off as we are.
And WE complain?

should mind their own business. let others manage their. why US gets involved with others? only when it sees any gains from them rather than benefitting them. everyone knows now that their economy is in great danger. so this is the only way to fill their stomach. rather than helping it destroy the region. there are many examples and iraq and afghanistan is two among them. who is responsible for so much killing of innocent lifes. atleast the situation was different without any killing when saddam was in power. i agree to some brutality to his part. but as big and huge number of casualties as present when the so called US invade iraq to free iraqis from the torturous ruling of saddam. who is losing. its US. i hope that US understands it and also its allies.

The U.S. has too many domestic problems to even concern itself with the world. We need to get the log out of our own eyes before we can see clearly to remove the speck from another's eyes.

Keeping it's nose out of other people's business. Did the US have to work through some difficult times of it's own? During this time did some outside force invade the US and correct them? Or were the US allowed to work through their own issues without outside international influence?

We should be focusing on becoming as self-sufficient as possible. Then we could forget about the rest of the world and take care of ourselves.

Start by minding our own business instead of buting into everyone else's and trying to tell them how to run their lives.
