It's because the Christian conservative mentality is the majority. These values are represented by the GOP.

Because most of the larger central states are sparsely populated and general vote Republican. Meanwhile the denser states are oftern smaller and vote Democrat.

Wyoming has a population of 300k (roughly), and by population is smaller than the top 50 cities in the country. So just by looking at the map, it can seem like the red dominates.

In the 2000 election, Bush won the majority of states, but most of the states that he won were 3-5 vote states. The democrates have to win the big vote states to carry the election - California, New York, all New England, etc. You can win the presidency with only 12 states!!!

Dont let the map fool you. The plains cant hold a candle to a large city when it comes to elections.

Because of all the sparsely populated "red" counties, where cows and sheep outnumber people 100-1. Considering how close the last elections have been, if we just spread out the population of the US so that every square mile had an equal amount of people in it, the whole map would be purple.

You will notice the coasts and the big cities are "Blue States." But really thats all subterfuge, a state gets 41% Republican vote and 39% Democrat vote (no one else votes) and now everyone in the state is labelled Republican or the otherway around.
What is "powned"?
I know the country has been feeling blue since we have a republican ruled economy

The Democrats have tended to do better in recent elections in larger metropolitan areas where the population is more condensed, while the GOP has done better in the larger geographic states.

The map looks more red because the Republicans have won the larger area states, so it just looks like they have won that much more.

Because the map is silly and misleading. Imagine 4 counties with populations of 100K each. In counties Alpha, Beta, Gamma, the vote is 50,001 red, 49,999 blue. In Delta, the vote is 100 red and 99,990 blue. The overall vote for the 4 counties is 150,013 red vs 249,987 blue -- that is, 37.5% red vs 62.5% blue. Yet the map is 75% red. That you didn't think of this on your own reveals very poor critical thinking skills. DUH.

Because most conservatives live in sparsely populated backwoods counties, while most liberals live in cities.

You better hope and pray that the "Christian morality" never is the minority. It's the only thing keeping America afloat now.
