They don't want to pay taxes, but they say they want a strong military, safe roads and BRIDGES, crime control, and homeland security. Those things cost money. I guess they think the solution is to "borrow and spend"

as an Englishman who is currently in the USA i business i feel i must ask this.
The Americans i deal with are always so uptight and boring. One of my favourite ways of unwinding is to get bladdered on Strongbow, have a fight with a random stranger, eat a kebab whilst fondling a ladies breasts and to round the night off i like to wear a traffic cone on my head.
Now that what i call fun!
Most Americans would rather go to bed early.

Saw all the liberial talking heads yesterday on the news shows. Last month the party line was "We're not winning the fight. This is a civil war and we can't defeat the enemy." Yesterday the line was, "Even if Petrais reports to Congress in September that we're winning the fight, and all indications say we are, unless Iraq meets the political goals, we're wasting our money , troops, and time." My question is, now that the liberials have changed the goals for success in Iraq, is the surge working?

It's hard these days to discern the Republican party from a religious sect. Blind faith seems to keep the members supporting the leadership. The president is looked upon almost as a Messiah, who can do no wrong.
If Giuliani is nominated, do you think secularism will return to the Republican party?

Would you let him say...."oh well, she is carrying my child now, so we might as well accept the situation on the ground and make the best of it. After all, that baby is going to need his daddy"?

or would you make sure he gets punished for his illegal acts first and foremost and make sure he does not benefit from them?

Then why in the world of politics and government do we allow politicians to essenatially do the same thing to us?
