The State Dept. confirmed that Rice did receive a CIA briefing about terror threats two months before the Sept. 11 attacks,

Bob Woodward in his new book describes the White House meeting as an emergency wake up call that Rice simply brushed off.

Yet, CIA Director Tenet and the county'ss top counterterror officer state that the session stood out in their minds as the "starkest warning they had ever given the White House" on an al-Qaida threat.

Rice was national security adviser at the time and her support for an preemptive attack on Iraq through spreading lies about their being a nuclear threat to the American public got her promoted to the top diplomatic job last year.

Although, both the State Department and the National Security Council indicated on Sunday that such a meeting had taken place, Rice continued to lie about it on Monday night saying that she would have remembered the sort of forceful warning the book claims.

Can any leader ever believe anything she says?

Right after 9/11, the world showered us with support and praise. Now, from all reports, the rest of the world (excepting Israel and a handful of European nations) looks at America in disgust. How did this all happen in a few short years???

How long has he known about this Foley scandal? How low is it if he's known about this for so long and simply waited until an election time to put his book out? Kinda self serving, making money off pedophilia claims and serving one's political agenda... Was he not concerned that Foley was going after other kids?

The idea that the GOP side of the House of Representatives is a bunch of perverts hitting on [congressional] pages is absurd! It is the Democrats who have condoned that kind of behavior in the past. It's the Democrats who don't find that behavior repugnant in any way, shape, matter or form. This is not about protecting the children as far as they're concerned: this is a strategic attack, timed during an election and the Republicans don't have to sit there and take it!

The Dems have a looooong history of worse abuse which is not to say one should use wrong behavior to justify other wrong behavior but it is the Democrats who have condoned that kind of behavior in the past. It's the Democrats who don't find that behavior repugnant in any way, shape, manner or form.

I mean, not everyone's a terrorist, but when the U.S. is attacked by terrorists, it's not just the terrorists who celebrate. It's all the libs of the world. They're the terrorists' fans. Shouldn't they be called "terrorists' fans" instead of "libs"?

And if all those people were not necessarily terrorists now, could they eventually become terrorists later? They are Muslim, come from the Middle East and hate America with a passion.
Isn't it true that it's not all that hard for a Muslim who fits this description to become a terrorist?

And why was it that Bush had to come out and say it outright that they had nothing to do with each other, but only after public polls taken showed that so many believed this to be true?
Did Fox news have something to do with this, and also was it the way Bush and Rumsfeld's speeches were worded?
And why now do so many people deny that so many believed this?
Are they now saying that it is the lib/dems who fell for it, not the conservative Fox watchers?

It seems that most people are neither radical liberal socialists or conservative right wingers. It seems that most people lean to the left a little on one issue, but may lean to the right on another. (Bell Curve). So, why isn't there a third...more moderate party? Seems like it would be ultra successful. Why do we have to keep choosing the lesser of two evils?
