Strange question for the politics section I know but just humor me. Yes or no answer and please also include whether you consider yourself to be conservative or liberal?

Thanks.

Yes. I had a curfew, chores, punishment, restrictions and discipline in all areas of my childhood through adult hood. A well raised girl of Conservative parents.

I am a liberal Democrat.

Yes, my parents were strict. I don't consider myself to be either conservative or liberal. However, I will say that the constant BS on here by liberals day after day repeating the same crap and trying to invent conspiracy theories could cause me to make a change.

My parents were abusive f*ckheads. Liberal abusive f*ckheads. Or they could just be lying about their politics. They lie about a lot of things.

I'm liberal. Well, mainly. I'm somewhat traditional about a few things, but in general, I'm very liberal. I guess you can be a horrible abusive person like my parents and still have the right political leanings. It's the whole thing about abuse--you can do the right thing in public, but be a total psycho at home with your kids. Hypocrisy is built right in.

Like, my parents are all for programs that help out children, like Head Start, and children's advocacy, and stuff like that. But when it comes to protecting their own kids...nope, not gonna do it. When they see children abused on TV shows, they're totally outraged, but they don't see that they abused me. Logs in their eyes, motes in other people's eyes.

I guess strict vs. lenient isn't much of a question in terms of being abused. It's held down and isolated vs. neglected. Grrrr! Now I'm all mad at them again...better save it for therapy. But I don't believe what I believe because of my parents--we happen to believe some of the same things, but I was actually way more conservative when I was young and then I grew out of it as I went to high school and away to college and was exposed to new ideas and knowledge and people and experiences. Then I talked to my parents and found out we shared a lot of ideas about politics. Totally creepy. But they're not total monsters, I guess.

Grrrrrrr!

Yes my parents were strict. I had 9:30pm curfew in H.S. They were strict but I'm a better person because of it. I am a proud republican and I hope people realize that life isn't about bashing someone because of their political beliefs. We all deserve a fair shot at happiness.

I came from a very strict Catholic household. Plenty of beatings and tight rules to follow. And I'm a liberal.

My parents are both gone - since I was very young - If your parents were strict or not, you at least had them !

I am a G D I - I believe what I believe and will always try to compromise ( as long as you see it my way )

Mom and her brothers and sisters are Democrats.
I am conservative.
