While most of the conservatives just spew the most vile, disgusting nonsense. It makes you look foolish, and invalidates any point you may have been trying to make.

BTW, thank you to the few friendly, rational conservatives that ARE here. You know who you are.

Why do they complain and whine so much about Liberals when:
The GOP controls the Executive and Legislative branches of the US. There is also more Republican governors than Democratic governors at the moment.
Since the arrival of FOX News and Right Wing Radio, conservatives have had a strong voice in media. In addition, conservative publications have greatly increased in popularity with many being best sellers. This includes such authors as Ann Coulter, David Horowitz, Bernard Goldberg, etc. To top it off they have many conservative magazines (ex National Review), newspapers (ex Wall Street Journal), blogs, and websites. This doesn't even begin to cover the GOP's lobby support, think tanks (ex Heritage Foundation), and special interest groups.

I think that the proposition of going to Baghdad is also fallacious. I think if we were going to remove Saddam Hussein we would have had to go all the way to Baghdad, we would have to commit a lot of force because I do not believe he would wait in the Presidential Palace for us to arrive. I think we'd have had to hunt him down. And once we'd done that and we'd gotten rid of Saddam Hussein and his government, then we'd have had to put another government in its place.

What kind of government? Should it be a Sunni government or Shi'i government or a Kurdish government or Ba'athist regime? Or maybe we want to bring in some of the Islamic fundamentalists? How long would we have had to stay in Baghdad to keep that government in place? What would happen to the government once U.S. forces withdrew? How many casualties should the United States accept in that effort to try to create clarity and stability in a situation that is inherently unstable?-Dick Cheney. April 29, 1991

Lot of knots, lot of snags,
lot of holes, lot of cracks lot of crags.
Lot of naggin' old hags,
lot of fools, lot of fool scum bags.
Oh it's such a drag, what a chore...
oh your wounds are full of salt.
Everything's a stress and what's more,
well it's all somebody's fault.

Hey! Get over it!

Makes you sick, makes you ill,
makes you cheat, slipping change from the till.
Had it up to the gills... makes you cry
while the milk still spills.
Ain't it just a *****? What a pain...
Well it's all a crying shame.
What left to do but complain?
Better find someone to blame.

Hey! Get over it!

Got a job, got a life,
got a four-door and a faithless wife.
Got those nice copper pipes,
got an ex, got a room for the night.
Aren't you such a catch? What a prize!
Got a body like a battle axe...
Love that perfect frown, honest eyes...
We ought to buy you a Cadillac.

I especially enjoy the verses pertaining to Ann Coulter (you'll know 'em)

It seems there is an enormous opportunity now for the Democrats to really build up steam and followers, but they grind on the same old saw and seem scared to death to set themselves apart from the fear mongering Republicans.

I think one way to improve the functioning of our democratic society may be to increase the number of U.S. Representatives. Article I, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution says, "The Number of Representatives shall not exceed one for every thirty Thousand".

If we use this as a benchmark for the number of Reps we could have; take 300 million (citizens) and divide by 30,000. We could constitutionally have a U.S. House composed of 10,000 Representatives.

Imagine that many congressional districts in the U.S.! There would be Green districts, hippy districts, gay districts, Nascar districts, science districts, business districts, etc.

True democracy could finally be regained.

Bush's strategy in an election year is to bring up issues of little to no significance in the greater scheme of things to rally his base. Then the issues are never heard of again til another election year. The administration does this so that Republicans can win elections. Will the Republican base be this dumb this time around?

Last week, the New York Times published details regarding how the U.S., in search of the terrorist money trail, tracks international money transfers. The paper does not dispute that the U.S. is acting legally, but they insisted on publishing the article anyway. In general, it seems like the press is making every effort to unnecessarily complicate the war on terror. More to the point, it seems they are willing to sabotage the war on terror, just to defeat the Republicans. Do you agree or disagree? There does not appear to be any compelling justification here. There is no issue regarding the public's right to know, since everything done is perfectly legal. Considering the way the NY Times is sabotaging the government's efforts to protect us, should the NY Times have its press credentials revoked?
