Good God, I can't believe we are now debating if it's OKAY to torture prisoners. I'm a conservative republican and I am 100% outraged. I grew up in a country that told us to be proud of the fact we don't torture other human beings as other countries do!.

I just saw a demostration of "waterboarding"..if you think this is okay in your judgement...you are one sick person!!

YES, our enemies are horrible, terrible brutal murder's...but we have to be better than them...why would we lower our standards so much.

What are your thoughts?

I have lived on the coast in S.D. for two years, La Jolla, to be specific. Recently I've noticed helicopters flying up and down the coast from early morning until late at night. Does anyone know why this is going on?

Can Bsh, a guy who openly bragged and joked around on TV about being a dictator, really be comparing anyone to Hitler and Lenin?

What's even funnier is that Osama Bin Laden died in Decemer of 2001 but Bush is still carrying on about his imaginary friend! I guess he just misses him LOL!

I think Bush committed his biggest error when he decided to govern exclusively for the pleasure of the conservatives.
Especially after the bitterly disputed elections. (Both)
And, after he had the WHOLE WORLD supporting him after the 9/11 tragedy.
Is he a useless human being, or what?

What is the definition of torture?

And if you answer "No" would you allow yourself to be subjected to these practices?

...be honest. No bravado here, get your head in the space of being awake for 48 hours, cold, hungry and perhaps upside down with a canvas bag over your head, not sure whether or not you will be drowned. Perhaps inundated with audio propaganda, sounds of screaming and agony around you, horrendous images being flashed before your eyes,

In Puerto Rico a woman was elected in 2000 as the first governess of the island. Women voted for her because she was a woman, men voted for her to give her the chance in order to say I told you so. She won. She did nothing in four years, as she had done NOTHIN in her previous four as mayor of the capital. She is a rich woman with her own agenda, she didn't care she just wanted the title. Would Hillary be the same case? Are we voting to see a woman (any woman) up there? or do we really believe in her ideals and capability to achieve them?

Ever since World War II, the United States has used its military and economic superiority to promote a stable world order that has, on the whole, kept the peace and spread prosperity. But the United States increasingly lacks both the power and the will to play this role. It isn’t just Iraq, though Iraq has been profoundly destabilizing and demoralizing. Many other factors erode U.S. power: China’s rise; probable nuclear proliferation; shrinking support for open trade; higher spending for Social Security and Medicare that squeezes the military; the weakness of traditional U.S. allies — Europe and Japan.

no longer does other countries listen to them and do what they say like in the cold war era, also soon oil could be traded in euros and not the dollar thats what iraq wanted to do any way.

so what do you think is it losing its edge
