I think perhaps they are more pro " give it to the church" kind of people.. so the guys at the top can live in mansions and the little donators can gather at their feet... a very odd world of religion, to my mind.

I don't know that they are. And neither do you. Most people are concerned about the environment - perhaps not as much as some would like, but I definitely see a move toward personal environmentalism.

I'm not sure that you can make a sweeping statement about this. I'd be interested in seeing the stats that you used. When asked my opinion for research, I dont think I've ever been asked my religious affiliation...which is certainly not evangelical Christian.
