Heck yes I'm in favor of a flat tax. Just think of it...everyone paying the same percentage instead of this graduated tax where the more you make the higher percentage you owe. Most people are against it for several reasons: I believe its because so very few people understand economics and the belief that the wealthy should 'carry' the poor. Another reason is people complain that corporations get too many tax breaks. What they don't understand/see is that the corporations get those breaks because they stimulate the economy and provide jobs to people - people who would not be able to pay their share of taxes with out that job. But there are very few enlightened people out there.....alas!

Personally I'm in favor of a flat tax, but you should realize that it means most people, especially the poor and middle class, will pay more that way.
Actually, I'm opposed to income tax at all. But if there has to be one, then I think it's wrong that the way it is now rich people have to pay more of a percentage of their income than poor people.

I am in favor of a flat tax, across the board for everyone, say 10 per cent. Rich or poor, everyone would pay equally, and abolish the state income tax, as some states have one and some states do not.

I'm in favor of flat tax because I could do my taxes in 30 seconds instead of 4 hours. Not sure if others are in favor of a flat tax.

No matter how we are taxed, the lawyers and tax preparers for the rich will find a way to get out of it.
I think we need to focus more on how our tax dollars are wasted.
A lot of good is done with taxes, but sadly most of it is wasted and abused, or just plain swindled by congress and the cronies in Washington.
Get rid of tax abusers.

Yes, it is completely fair. Anytime you try to appropriate who gets what in government it will inevitably become messy - like it has. It also creates social class conflict which capitalism does not need.
I upper middle but have gotten there through frugalness. I live in NYC and every so-called "poor" person has enough money for ipods, name brand clothes, PSPs, eating out, booze and partying-all stuff I never get to enjoy because i save responsibly. I've never seen a truly "down and out" person in America - it's not like those kids in Africa! Even the homeless here always has a walkman and ableness to find work if they wanted. I do think the mental ones need help but they have programs established that account for that; and a flat tax would ensure it gets its revenue more equitably.
Vote Ron Paul. Money is the back-bone to everything in a society and his knowledge of monetary policy is what we need to get better!

A flat tax is already paid on the sale of gasoline in this country. It is unfair to the lower paid in this country. No, I am not in favor of a flat tax.
The idea behind a flat tax is that it is simple. This country is not simple, it is dynamic and why it is the best in the world.

I am in favor of some of tax reform, the current one is broken by far. Some kind of flat tax, reduction in loopholes for the current one, or a national sales tax is needed.

The flat tax is a bogus bulls$hit idea which benefits only the rich and which the stupid rich wanna-bes have been tricked into believing is good for them.
It's BOGUS.
Let me also add that there is NO LEGAL basis for the government taxing WAGES in the first place.
