I for one, am not ashamed to be white anymore.
I am sick and tired of being the target of hateful messages just because I am white. You know what? Nobody has done me any favors in this world and I still manage to go to a junior college (affordable) and work full time. There are many white racists in this world, but for some reason it's worse to be a white racist than a black racist.
There are clubs, schools and non-profit organizations for ethnic groups to benefit from, but the only white clubs I hear about are neo-nazis that I want no part of. To be honest, I wouldn't even want to be part of a club for only white people, and I think it's bullshit that certain people from other races choose to only associate with those that have the same skin color.
There are fraternities on college campus's that are only for black people. What the hell? That would never fly if there was a fraternity for white people. Trust me, I know that there is racism, I'm not going to cop-out and say that the problems we face as a society can be blamed more for class issues than color, but for Pete's sake, does affirmative action solve the problem, or does it just leave people wondering if a person of color really deserved the job?
I hate "hate crime" legislation. Are there any crimes committed out of love? Is there really legal standing for a person to face a harsher punishment because of the motivation for a crime? Which is worse, killing someone so I can steal their wallet, or killing someone because I don't like their ethnicity? Either way the person is dead and can never be brought back. Sometimes I feel like I have to walk on eggshells when I'm near a black person because I don't want to appear racist.
When I was little all of my friends were black and I thought nothing of it; they were just my friends. Then we learned about racism in school and I've been paranoid ever since. I don't have a solution for the race problem. I just wish it didn't even matter.

So from this question I can tell you either assume that there are no white Americans who are liberal or that liberals in general are against white Americans. Neither of which is true. I'm not a liberal by any stretch of the imagination but I do admire anyone who believes all people deserve the right to be treated as equals in our society. Now for some reason a lot of people like you tend to equate this as anti-white? An equal society would not be anti-white it would be anti-white priviledge, and that is what I think you and your ilk are against. I also like how you used the phrase "our country". So this country belongs only to whites, or only to people who think like you? What about the Native Americans, Hispanics, Asians, Blacks, and others who have sacrificed their lives and have served this country since its beginning? Do they, their families, and their descendants not have the right to live in an equal and just society. With all that said I don't agree with what some people call "white bashing". I don't think whites living in America today can be faulted for slavery, should suffer from "white guilt" or should be called racists just because their white. Unfortunately a lot of liberals do that, not every liberal does that but like we as Americans have a tendency to paint everyone with the same brush. Well that's enough of my spiel.

Michael Moore is not black, that's for sure. In fact, that'd be an insult to blacks.
I think it's time for Americans to vote to ensure the best interests of America are represented in Congress and the White House, not the elites on either side of the aisle.

It's time for ALL Americans to do that . Unfortunately - many key democrats on the far left seem to try hard to devide races against one another - such as your question seems to imply .
