Depending on the complications, the parents would be notified and have to approve of the treatment, unless it was an emergency. In that case they would treat or stabilize the girl, then notify the parent. The parent then would be responsible for all the bills. They can perform the abortion without parental consent, but they can’t treat the complications if any arise without consent.

No. An abortion is a surgical procedure. Like any other surgical procedure, there are risks and possible complications involved. Even if a procedure is deemed "safe" there are things that can (and do) go wrong. A critical time after any surgical procedure is the 24-48 hours post-op period. This is the time where things like a fever, excess pain, excess bleeding and other signs and symptoms of a complication would occur. If a girl's parents were unaware to be looking for these symptoms, how are they supposed to recognize the warning signs in time and get her the medical attention needed. In the US, an underage minor cannot give consent for having an appendix removed, having teeth cleaned or even getting ears pierced. Many abortion proponents say that abortion is just another medical procedure. If it is, why is it given its own category and exempt from the laws governing informed consent which are enforced for EVERY OTHER MEDICAL PROCEDURE? In cases with compelling reasons why the parents of a girl should not be informed, judicial consent can be obtained. It's not a big deal for this, all it takes is a phone call. But the point is, someone over the age of 18 is taking responsibility for the well-being of the girl.

I'm sure a law suit would pursue. thats why children shouldn't be given that kind of right. that should go through the parents first, and hopefully the parents will have good enough sense to make her have the baby and not kill her own flesh and blood.

Lets see. At 17 you are not old enough to buy a house or a car without permission. You cant buy alcohol, or enter into a binding contract. However, you can kill your own kid without your parents permission.

There should be no minor procedures without parental consent.

A pregnant woman is considered an adult in states that allow under eighteen abortions.
The reason for allowing it is that in many cases, the father of the girl is also the father of her child. So asking the girl to get her parents permission can lead to some pretty sickening scenarios.
