for that matter, is the fact that we are finding cures for all these genetic diseases actually making us more susceptable to them. typically if a species has a negative genetic mutation it would be eliminated over time through natural selection. it seems like we are actually making us sicker by curing people. im not saying dont help sick people. i have a crohns disease which is a chronic genetic disorder. it was just a thought ive had.

To oppose the NAU? Following info reads:

If you have been scratching your head trying to figure out
why President Bush has pushed so hard for amnesty, here's
your "smoking gun."

An effort is underway to create a North American "framework"
that will all but eliminate hard borders between Mexico,
the U.S. and Canada. This "framework" includes a "trusted
travelers" program that allows "citizens of North America"
to move freely within the three countries.

No wonder the President is pushing amnesty!

On August 20-21, President Bush will join Mexican President
Calderon and Canadian Prime Minister Harper for the second
Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) summit.

I was talking to my buddy the other day. He works with the FBI in hiring Field Agents. He told me a story of a man, who was overweight, but was muscular enough to pull his own body weight, run, etc. Medical tests showed that he was fine, passing with flying colors. Basically, he could perform better than the physically fit man.

Then there is a man, same age, who is very physically fit. Six pack abs, etc.

Both of these men applied for the job, and the thin man got the job, despite being less talented and educated than the other candidate. I understand that there are body resitrictions and weight restrictions, but both men passed them.

My question to you is: Who would you have hired?

I don't really see a difference between Cuba and China. Why do we allow ourselves to do business with such horrible countries. Also why are the Olympics there? Seems odd, why not a EU country?

Bush war adviser says draft worth a look By RICHARD LARDNER
Fri Aug 10, 7:06 PM ET

WASHINGTON - Frequent tours for U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan have stressed the all-volunteer force and made it worth considering a return to a military draft, President Bush's new war adviser said Friday.

"I think it makes sense to certainly consider it," Army Lt. Gen. Douglas Lute said in an interview with National Public Radio's "All Things Considered

I have seen all who dissent , liberals and conservatives, pilloried for publicly expressing their dissent opposing the war in Iraq. Why? And is this good for the future of this democratic Nation- the US-- which must depend on freedom of speech to get to the truths and the lies in order to make good choices and decisions--individually and collectively?

World War 2, Australias than Prime Minister Sir Robert Menzies became HATED by his own people and earn't the nickname "Pig Iron Bob" because he collaborated with Japan in exporting a feighter full of srap metal to Japan at the time of the 2nd Australian Imperial Force (2nd AIF) bravely trying to turn the Japs back on the Kokoda Trail, sorry actually I beleive it was our National Guard fighting them off as Brittain refused to release the 2nd AIF from Africa and France !

So after many "bloody srtikes" and picketing of the wharfs "Pig Iron Bob" won and the ship set sail for Tokyo, with a full load of scrap metal to be fired back at our Boys in New Guinea ! True ! Australias Darkest hour ? Why wasn't Menzies shot ?

If you know more please correct me or fill me in ! Thankyou.

does it insult you that you really are not rich enough to reap the benifis of a TRUE republican?

yet run around acting all cool with a big "R" on your turtleneck sweater. Supporting the cause because it makes you "feel like you are in the club".

I'd be pissed if i considered myself a republican. Knowing how much money you really have to be part of the club.

it's o.k. if you feel used though. That's the way RIGHTY meant it to be.

the people must be represented...but in the 1700's the fastest a message could travel was by horse. So back then it was only reasonable for the people of a district to elect 1 individual who could frequent washington and represent their concerns and values assuming that he/she shares them. But now days we have the internet and we have .gov's. it is assumed that almost everyone has access to computers and the internet in the United States. So then, why can't we the people represent ourselves??? here my plan: have some sort of website like "www.vote.gov" where each citizen has an account and can vote on issues that congress would otherwise be voting on...this way they could double check their account to make sure that what they voted for actually registered correctly...this would make electronic voting fraud-free. If there was an error in the vote, a citizen could simply make a claim and correct the problem. This system also ensures that measures are passed because they are truly popular

It seems strange that in a country where how you speak and what school you attended means a likelihood of financial success, can call itself a democracy! I mean even now 75% of the cabinet went to Oxford or Cambridge. So it seems that if your ancester got lucky or backstabbed or stole a millenium ago, your only chance is the lottery or become a crime boss!!!
Bugger me we're all getting shafted.
