If Iraq becomes a democracy, it will unfortunately, not affect my finances. I still will not be able to afford to travel abroad, so no, I will not go visit Iraq if they become a democracy. I just don't get to travel much, period.

Why not? We fought in Vietnam for many years. Today we trade with Vietnam on a grand scale. U.S. companies are opening factories & distribution facilities all over Vietnam. Large numbers of Americans are moving to Vietnam to work in these factories & office buildings.The vietnamese companies trade on our stock markets. Vietnam's economy is growing at a fast rate. Many American go there on vacation. Isn't it amazing this country is doing so well without the benefit of democracy?

I don't think so. Iran, Palestine, and Lebanon are all democracies and I wouldn't visit there. Maybe if they had a constitutional republic like our own I might.
