--and are there really Americans, some in places of power and authority, whose desire it is to have a nation run like one in which real liberty, individual freedom, legitimate elections, and human rights are replaced by a police state with fascist government authoritarianism and control of the people by military force? Instead of world peace these authoritarians seek U.S. supremacy? Are there a large number of Americans WHO ACTUALLY WANT THIS, or is it that most anti-liberals don't realize what they are doing when they support the Bush administration's use of the military and invasion of privacy?

Is there any hope in finding a cure for diseases? Why would the drug companies want to cure an illness when there is no money in it? If we find cures for illnesses then the big phamaceutical companies that create drugs to ease our pain and help deal with the disease would go bankrupt. Finding cures for disease would greatly hurt our economy by eliminating the need for the multi billion dollar drug industry. Are people even working on finding cures? If there is no money in finding a cure and only money in creating drugs to help with the pain, etc. then do companies even fund the research to find a cure? What if a cure has been found but they won't tell us b/c it would ruin our economy? I ask these questions b/c I am so frustrated! My loved one may have Juvenile Rhematoid Arthritis and I feel so helpless. Are they ever going to find a cure? Is anyone even working on curing this or just alleviating the pain with drugs? I think we are all reing lied to.

Why cant America ever win a war outright?. They could not win Vietnam so pulled out and didnt achieve anything of any worth and ended up looking humiliated and dejected. In World War 2 they could not stop the Japanese so nuked them, being the easy option i wonder what America would do if a nation nuked America for not behaving?. In every circumstance America has never really finished a war as its incapable. And now they are mired in two wars and without any possibility of pullout in sight, humiliation yet again for America.

When will they realise nobody is ever going to surrender to US foreign policy and dictation. I would just love to see them pick a fight with Russia and that would be the end of the US as we know it. But they wont because they only pick on small fry and then still lose. So what chance do they have with Russia. They will be in Iraq for years now dying for no reason but Israel demands and Middle Eastern influence. Tell the dead Americans that, who's war is it?

Right now, Bush & Cheney are leaning on the Iraqi parliament hard to pass an oil law that will allow oil companies to take up to 80% of Iraq's oil wealth.

One of the companies who would swoop in for contracts once it's passed is Chevron.

Problem is, Chevron was involved in the oil for food scandal, and Condi Rice was chair of their public policy committee at the time.

Should they be allowed to profit from our war and diplomacy after violating the sanctions against Saddam?

Why is it that the US (and particularly the media) is so bent on gun control? Every news story about a shooting is followed by the obligitory 2 minutes of what the media's opinion is... drivel about the brady bill and mental patients buying guns etc etc...

Why aren't we passing laws to punish those who use guns in crimes? Currently in most states if you pull a gun on someone during a crime but don't shoot them you get a very mild sentance. Why not punish those people, instead of the ones who use guns properly? You pull a gun during a crime, you get 20 to life. Bam, gun crimes go down.

Much easier than repealing the 2nd amendment, which would take an act of God or a deafeningly overwhelming public outcry (as in not gonna happen in our lifetimes).

All this harping on about how China is becoming so powerful when in reality the only reason for high GDP is because of overpopulating the planet with a 1.3 billion populous and making them work in swaet shops for next to nothing. So should Europe and America be following this gleaming example of capitalist thinking from the few for the few. It seems capitalists require huge work forces to make more profit for them while forsaking the very people its supposed to be helping.

In my government class students are required to do a report and presentation on a topic of there choice. I chose "reverse discrimination" which is
Dictionary definition - Discrimination against members of a dominant or majority group, especially when resulting from policies established to correct discrimination against members of a minority or disadvantaged group.

Law dictionary definition - A term referring to the practice of excluding a classification or race of people who have not been historically discriminated against, usually whites, from positions that are made available exclusively to persons or groups that have traditionally been the subject of discrimination, or who otherwise benefit from affirmative action programs. The term has been applied to the practice of reserving positions for minorities in school admissions programs, corporate promotions, and rehiring of blacks with less job seniority than whites.

Yeah, I was just curious what other people think about it

I think in the past 20 years this country has seriously gone downhill. These days everyone is all "gay marriage is good, drugs are bad, promiscuous sex is bad, your right to smoke ends where my nose begins, wa wa wa" Everything is so centrally controlled and we seem to be becoming the Soviet Union controlling every other country in the world with no concern for the people who live there. The media no longer reports the truth, just what the gov't decides to let them print. Everything is a big business run by greedy fat republican voters who care about nothing but $$ and succumb to any ******** interest group that raises a pinky. While at the same time, people are doing less drugs, and are all paranoid about the effects of drugs and second hand smoke but eat mcdonalds and sit on their asses all day without exercising. And the country has become almost as sexually repressed as it was during the 1950s and prior. I say we need another revolution like the 60s. Who agrees

please the phrase 'to fight evil...to fight for freedom' is all rhetoric. The real world is not a comic book.

I'm sick of people saying support our troops when they are not even sure what they are fighting for. If you really want to support our troops then you should make sure that they are fighting for a real cause and not just going out there to die.

Where is the concrete evidence and reasons that we are still in Iraq? The only thing Bush will say is 'because we're spreading freedom....we're fighting evil.' NO REAL SUBSTANCE! SO since our troops and our freedom is such a big issue then...how come the U.S. government doesn't need to provide concrete evidence to wage wars against another country?

no church at all, ask yourself this question..... How many hospitals, universities, orphanages, homeless and abuse shelters have been founded by the ACLU or American Atheist Society?

Isn't it the inclusion of the word Baptist, Catholic, Christian, Presbyterian, etc. in the name of so many of these institutions that proves by ACTIONS, not just words, who really cares for the suffering of mankind and desires to make the world better.

True or False

There are no parties anymore. Democrat and Republican do not exist. Both sides are supporting each other and stalling for each another. They still balance the issues that separate them from one another but the New World Order is in full swing. Both sides are under control by Lobbying and foreign policy now comes first before America!

We need to see this clearly. We can't vote for any of the candidates both sides have been showcasing. Both sides are trying to destroy our American independence and they are trying to monitor every single American without cause.

We must elect someone outside the Washington bought and paid for circles. They are only out for themselves and for profit for their elite close knit families. They could care less about you and I

Vote for Ron Paul and take back America!

A President for the American people - one who is not bought out by the elite under the lobbyist foreign control!

If you don’t understand the Democrats’ version of tax cuts (and you are not alone), maybe this will help explain it:

50,000 people go to a baseball game, but the game was rained out. A refund was then due

The team was about to mail refunds when the Congressional Democrats stopped them and suggested that they send out refund amounts based on the Democrat National Committee’s interpretation of fairness.

After all, if the refunds were made based on the price each person paid for the tickets, most of the money would go to the ticket holders of the most expensive tickets. That would be unfair and unconscionable.

People in the $10 seats will get back $15, because they have less money to spend. Call it an “Earned Income Ticket Credit.” Persons “earn” it by demonstrating little ambition, few skills and poor work habits, thus keeping them at entry-level wages.

People in the $25 seats will get back $25, because that’s only fair.

People in the $50 seats will get back $1, because they already make a lot of money and don’t need a refund. After all, if they can afford a $50 ticket, then they must not be paying enough taxes.

People in the $75 luxury seats will have to pay another $50, because they have way too much to spend.

The people driving (or walking) by the stadium who couldn’t afford to watch the game will get $10 each, even though they didn’t pay anything in, because they need the most help (sometimes known as Affirmative Action!).

Now do you understand?

If not, contact Representative Nancy Pelosi, Senator Ted Kennedy or Senator Hillary Clinton for assistance.
