mass persuasion really creepy? He's been pushing this whole 'fix the planet bit' and he put forth a lot of outrageous ideas for fixing global warming, and to get everyone to go along with it he purposed 'mass persuasion'.

Do you think that fixing global warming will end up putting the earth before the rights of it's inhabitants? It scares me that something we might not have anything to do with will end up taking over our lives. Have you thought about what will happen if government tries to enforce fixing global warming? Telling you what you can drive, how many kids you can have, ect?

P.s. Al Gore looks like he's gone insane.

America's government was based on some basic Christian principles. The founding fathers gave people the right to practice which ever religion they wished. They also understood that by creating the seperation of church and state that Government would not be easily swade by religion. Because of the basic right of freedom of speech, people are able to say what they belive without reciveing government persicution. The government was designed that the majority would have more influence over the minorty when looking at politics. Why is it that the minority is asking for chrisitian values to be taken away form the government? The ten comandments are carved on the Supreme courts building in Washington D.C. However they were removed from the Massachusets court house. I understand that the phrase "One nation under God" was placed in the Pledge to show that we are not a communist country, but by removing it would we be going against what the phrase was origionaly intented to signify?
Why are we

According to Tony Blair the British Marines and Sailors were NOT in Iranian waters and were well within their rights to be there - everyone knew this from the start.

If Iran puts the soldiers on trial in an Iranian court - sharia law - what should Britain do? What if the soldiers are convicted and sentenced to jail - in Iran?

What should Britain do?

Why does the US and others think they have the right to stop another country like Iran from having nukes? Especially if we are preaching freedom and democracy, how can we deny another country what we and other nations already have? It seems there a fear of leveling the playing field. I personally would feel uneasy about them having it, and don't want them to,but we seem very hipocritical. I can certainly see why Iran feels like they do. Just curious and would like to hear oppinions

I think so, because they only seem to say, the troops that die IN IRAQ. That doesn't seem to account for the troops that have died from things like mortally inflicted wounds after hospital care, or suicide. I can't seem to find any official numbers please help.

It seems that they are trying to defuse assertions that Bush lied us into war by repeating Democratic accusations against Saddamn from the 1990's, but all this does is paint them as having told the same lies Bush told, doesn't it?

Do you get off the hook for just being a repeater of lies? Do enough repetitions really make lies true? If enough people of "both" parties believe it's true, does that mean it's not a lie after all when the evidence finally comes in?

I say the ALL lied, except for the great number who were ignored.

I'm French and I live in London. I can live here without any visa, i can work here and have the same rights than any English worker, i can buy a house here... It wouldn't be so easy without the EU.
I have many English friends, but also German, Italian, Spanish, Czech... Don't you think it's better than being in war like during the first half of the 20th century?
I know that the EU has many things that need to be improved. I'm sure you'll tell me about bureaucracy, loss of national independance or things like that but basically, would you prefer being alone in our current world? Please, explain to me why you're so many against the EU, more than in any other european country.
