It seems that they are trying to defuse assertions that Bush lied us into war by repeating Democratic accusations against Saddamn from the 1990's, but all this does is paint them as having told the same lies Bush told, doesn't it?

Do you get off the hook for just being a repeater of lies? Do enough repetitions really make lies true? If enough people of "both" parties believe it's true, does that mean it's not a lie after all when the evidence finally comes in?

I say the ALL lied, except for the great number who were ignored.

Here is what the Cons' buddies of the 1930's and 40's believed and apparently so do the cons.:

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic, and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the state to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State."

politics is a vicious cycle where each party leaves the office and is blamed for the next party's mistakes. it is a no win situation for every new president. that is why the lies are misconstrued. each political situation in the world while a president is in office dictates what policy he or hopefully one day she, but not yet, issues and has to live with. hindsight is always used to make things seem like lies, in some cases yes they are lies, but neither party will ever admit to the other that they maybe just maybe made a mistake.
