If the earth was literally on fire (exaggeration), it seems that some people would still doubt global warming is caused by humans. "It's a natural cycle. Liberal propaganda. Conspiracy of scientists." Scientists looked at the evidence and have come to an almost universal consensus that global warming is caused by humans. What proof do you need?

Scientists see it in tree rings, ancient coral and bubbles trapped in ice cores. These reveal that the world has not been as warm as it is now for a millennium or more. The three warmest years on record have all occurred since 1998; 19 of the warmest 20 since 1980. And Earth has probably never warmed as fast as in the past 30 years - a period when natural influences on global temperatures, such as solar cycles and volcanoes should have cooled us down. Studies of the thermal inertia of the oceans suggest that there is more warming in the pipeline.

Has the UK public lost its mind, the present government is thinking of charging for NHS, education and whatever takes its fancy.
I am a Labour supporter, smoker and employed.
Is this also the death knell of small pubs due to the smoking ban.

The Dixie Chicks are kicked out of country music. They are then given song of the year at the Grammy's for their anti-Bush song that no one listens to. What in the world is wrong with these people?

For extra credit in my political science class, I'm trying to find the statistics for the top ways in which people are murdered in America. I believe gunfire is #1. Also, how many children are killed by accidental gunfire (such as when playing with a gun). A third part of my question is which states that allow concealed weapons require classes on how to use such weapons.

Thanks for your help, and I will need online references, so please source your answers.

In this wknds Parade magazine King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia is ranked the 5th worst dictator on earth, ranking ahead of Mugabe, Qaddafi, and Al-Assad.

The Saudis are the best friends of the Bush clan and not long ago George was filmed walking hand-in-hand with one of the princes. And this past Thanskgiving the Saudis SUMMONED Cheney, and he got on the plane just like a good little puppy.

So if George is bent on bringing Democracy to Iraq, how does he rationalize the love of a horrible despot?

There are a couple of websites where you can take a quiz about your political views:

http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz.html
www.politicalcompass.org

You are welcome to post others for review or reference.

I score as a centrist on both of these, a little to the left on one and a little to the right on the other.

This amazed me since most people call me conservative, right winger, religious right, etc and I consider myself to be a moderate conservative.

I was wondering how many people agreed with where they ended up on the map with these political quiz's?
